Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

So .... 2016. History will show that it was a year the FA Cup wasn't competed for. Odd, but these things happen.

Re: Tonight's Football
Quite a decent game, but the goalscorer was never MOTM for me. Never been a total Rooney fan, but he owned the midfield all game and his energy and positional play were top drawer. He was at the heart of everything including the equaliser which he made all on his own. Best side won in the end but Zaha sure caused em some problems. How Ashley Young is still drawing top wages is the mystery of the millennium.

Must have watched a different game to me as I thought Rooney was shocking apart from the equaliser.TANGODANCER wrote:Quite a decent game, but the goalscorer was never MOTM for me. Also thought Zaha was poor.

Some number-based footie facts:
Chris Swailes of Morpeth Town is not only the oldest scorer at Wembley, at 45 he's the oldest man to play in a Wembley final. It's his third Wembley appearance having won the FA Vase twice before. He has had 4 heart operations, a 6-inch screw inserted in a heel and has retired twice.
Gary Madine's shirt number is 14.

I'd forgotten that Madine is actually called Gary.

I thought it was either "Fcking Hell" Madine or "Fck Me" Madine. It's Gary is it ?Bruce Rioja wrote:Little Green Man wrote:Some number-based footie facts:

... & that 14. Is that the number of impossible-to-miss misses he achieved last season ? It felt like more, that's all.

Nice Job Morpeth! Here's my old colleague from when I lived in the North East - Ron - minister in Morpeth for MANY years and also local councillor - blessing the Morpeth shirts! It seems it worked!

also - Morpeth had a 45yr old goal-scorer - Chris Swailes!

Such a shame to see milwall being played off the pitch.
