You mean like the lack of protectionism that keeps our financial and insurance service at arms length?Worthy4England wrote:And that's now able to happen because of the market rules that are now in place. Rather than the protectionism that used to be in place when there were only national airlines.Hoboh wrote:Cheap flights because of the EU?

Well done for highlighting this.
A fact even the great Europhile John Major admits.

Re: Brexit or Britin
What has that to do with air travel deregulation? Not sure I get your point. But that wouldn't be the first time.
Re: Brexit or Britin
Well the EU is responsible for deregulation of everything according to the remainers, is it not?Worthy4England wrote:What has that to do with air travel deregulation? Not sure I get your point. But that wouldn't be the first time.

It's a dirty game this Europe business mate, some people are happy being independent, some just want to sell out, usually in the belief it furthers their own means.Prufrock wrote:It's a link's graveyard this thread.
They don't realise just how unimportant an individual they will become, the Brits, unlike the French, don't burn tyres in the road, we vote them out, an option to be lost forever if we remain in the 'ever closer union of the EU'.
I hope the little white piece of paper enshrined with the words 'opt out' is a nice, soft 3ply, wouldn't want those EU mandarins to hurt our backsides would we.
Re: Brexit or Britin
aye - I agree - down with tyres - vote them out (but don't burn them - that's taking it a bit far!)Hoboh wrote:the Brits, unlike the French, don't burn tyres in the road, we vote them out,

I was fairly convinced that remainers would win but recently it seems amongst the folk I know that the outers appear to be in the majority. I don't know whether that's just down to the folk I hang around with or an indication of any swing nationally?
I've found the Beeb to be fairly well balanced in it's reporting but watching ITN the other night I thought I detected a definite pro exit bias

Re: Brexit or Britin
It is interesting that so many sort of anecdotal finger in the air polls are coming on the side of exit. This is my experience too.
However, I still think the vote will be remain. My only basis for this is that I think the ones who will vote remain are less likely to be vociferous and like a general election where practically nobody advertises they are voting Tory I still think remain will edge a close (but not all that close) vote.
Perhaps I'm going bonkers...
