Re: The athletics/running thread
Did you get the 50th done Brucey? For my 49th I managed to chuff round Wetherby pr as a Stelios tribute act with completely shaved head and 07-08 away shirt. Had a good chat with a Leeds based Wanderers ST holder who spotted the shirt.
It was 3 laps of some big playing fields so not the best course. My housemate described it as like a bad PE lesson!

Did it in my 04/05 home shirt, LE, although people kept asking me if I was a British relative of Mario Jardel.
50 seconds faster than last week's abomination but still 90 seconds outside my average. Still, it's hopefully heading back in the right direction. Your run sounds like the sort of thing we had to do when the pitches were waterlogged.

Good stuff Bruce. My weekend's on it's arse. Literally.
Following my swim and bike last night I've pickedup a bug that has left me no further than 20 feet from the toilet since about 10.00 pm. Absolutely shattered. I'm gutted as it means no race tomorrow and no long run. Serves me right for being cocky yesterday I suppose.

Ooof. That's not good at all. Obviously I'm not a fecking doctor or owt, but I do hope you're getting as much fluid on board as possible (even if it isn't hanging around for long).Gary the Enfield wrote:Bruce Rioja wrote:Did it in my 04/05 home shirt, LE, although people kept asking me if I was a British relative of Mario Jardel.

Aye. Chemist sorted me out with various capsules. I drink lots anyway with hydration tablets.
Re: The athletics/running thread
Better than an injury I guess. Hope you're soon ok.
Bruce I'm going to bring the 93-94 Barcelona style one out for the 50th next week.

Where are you doing it? I might be tempted in to doing it in this 90 to 93 actual rascal.

My fastest pr this year, Bruce gets name checked for his 50th and the sausages were excellent
Bad luck G. Not something you've picked up from open water swimming? A fluke? Like LE said, better than anything muscular I suppose
. I'll assume we're off for Monday unless you recover well tomorrow?

Anyhow, I'm delighted to report I have an "official" injury. A blister from this morning.

You'll have no need to if you can do a park run and then get to breakfast for 9.30! You'll be on the cigars by the time we show up!Worthy4England wrote:^^ Tell that HG I ain't sharing any.
