Aye, unlucky for Croatia. I don't reckon it was deliberate, more ball to hand than the opposite.Prufrock wrote:Unlucky handball??TANGODANCER wrote:Crazy goings on in the Croatia v Czech Republic game. Lasted ninety nine and a half minutes due to idiots throwing flares. Croatia looked out of sight at 2-0 up then a peach of a ball from Thomas Rosicki was headed home. 2-1. In the 93rd mintute
a very unlucky handball gave the Czechs a peanalty and it finished 2-2. Croatia will be least pleased abut that.
Your Spaniards looking pretty good.

Well .... maybe. But what the fck is he doing with his hand above his head as he leaps ? Crackers.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Euro Championships 2016
Exactly. Don't wave your hands above your head ave you might not get a pen against you. One if the more blatant handballs.

Re: Euro Championships 2016
yeah - ball to hand - it's just that he put his hand there!
according to Graham Poll: "the question of intent is now, did the offender deliberately place his arms in an unnatural position to increase the chances of the ball hitting him? If the answer to that is yes then it is correct to penalise that player even though it used to be argued that was "ball to hand"."

Who knew that if they picked a proper team Belgium wound be dangerous. Ireland are dreadful. This could get ugly.

Feel sorry for Iceland there. Think they will be frustrated as had they just not sat back quite as much I think they could have won the game with a second goal. They just ended up unable to get out.
Shame.
Shame.

Watched both games and the Republic were a disappoinment.
Sorry for the Icers to lose a goal in the 88th minute, two minutes after Eidur came on. Two draws for them is pretty decent.

Austria playing like a pub side against Portugal. Every time they get the ball they give it away, and Alaba is looking like anything but world class....so far.

I like Portugal. I like Portuguese people. But watching that preening prick have the smug fckg grin taken of his face I like much, much more.

Re: Euro Championships 2016
Probably held back the tears till the dressing room, but there were many wonders to be seen. I thought the penalty a bit contrived, surprise, surprise, but when he missed it....then had his goal disallowed for offside and his free kicks all well off target.......wonderful...malcd1 wrote:Sadly I missed the match. Re: Euro Championships 2016
I think myself someone who thinks the game has gone soft, TD, but even I do wonder what it would take for you to think something a penalty
. Eddie Jones would have cheered that, and probably should have been a red. Made ite all the more unfair and therefore funny!

Re: Euro Championships 2016
He seems to have swapped that for a weird, almost scary, permanent, cynical "I don't believe it, the World's treating me so badly but don't let anyone see you are fallible" grin.malcd1 wrote:Sadly I missed the match. Has he cried yet?
A constant projection of amazement
Clearly practiced & very odd.
I think it's meant to portray that anything which goes wrong is just fate, or been unfairly treated. It's very bizarre.
But he was crying inside.
