I think it a bit odd the a Eurosceptic like Hannan would draw a salary as a member of the European Parliament and go so far as to seek (and win) re-election. But I don't really understand all the nuances of the debate.

Vote Leave and you get the Leavers.

For what it's worth, the relatively small technology company I work for would struggle without our highly competent EU employees. We've currently got a Dane, a German, a Spaniard, a Norwegian and a Pole on the books. We've also had recent employees from France, Turkey, Italy, Ireland and Greece as well as others from the countries already mentioned. We've tried to hire staff from Britain but we often struggle to do so, typically because we can't find people with the appropriate skill set. (A couple of years ago we even had to look to India to get a software tester.) From what I gather we're not unusual in this respect.
I highly doubt the plan is to blanket ban all foreigners.. Skilled (and non-skilled) workers will always be needed and accepted

Not much point exiting in that case, seeing as we already take more from non-EU countries anyway.

Last I heard we had a high number of vacant positions going across the UK. So one cannot claim "they've taken all our jobs".

More like "we need the workforce".

As amazing as that may sound to some

It is far from the only reason, but then because of the media portrayal, that's all they're peddling..

Aye things like this don't help, more so when you realise the companies involved in most of the car manufacturers across Europe happen to be German and it's a massive part of their jobs and economy.

Unfortunately,bb (and I'm speaking from what I've actually heard around and in conversations), a lot of people's reasons are. If the government had made a clear case/mandate to educate the masses,( along with some genuine promises to sort the country out) instead of the farcial battle of the buses, it may have been different. As it is, if anything does go for exit it will probably be immigration that swings it. The goings on in Callais ( see this mornings papers) are helping nothing or no one either.

Why would Brexit mean that those people couldn't still work for your company? That is a genuine question because I don't know the answer.

Last word clearly doesn't mean last word... That may be the key to deciphering brexit statements...

Hold on, just hold on. Apparently we're all going to be 38 quid a week worse off if we vote leave. Not 37. Oh no. 38. To the penny. Utter bollix.

I suspect it's been rounded to the nearest pound.

I am slightly surprised that the Bookies still seem to have Brexit at 3/1 in some places. Might be worthy lobbing some of yer £38 for next week on at those odds...could cover you for a month! :-)

No, it means I'm tired of having the accusations of leave being the only side lying or not answering questions.

There's been plenty of that on both sides. Perhaps you've been blinded to that.

The really great news is there's only one day of lying left before the vote, then our democratic process will kick in and then no one needs to mention it ever again. :-)
