since when did "better-educated" / "young" and/or "urban" mean the same as "snob" ???

Remember Robert Peston? That kind of wrong.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

Robert Peston? Have you really seen him? Wrong on so many levels and also with an affectation which makes the average persons toes curl.Lord Kangana wrote:Remember Robert Peston? That kind of wrong.
So, that sort of wrong? As far as comparisons with Remains are concerned, not very flattering eh LK?

I meant the Robert Peston who caused the collapse of Northern Rock. Never mind.

Go on. Do it. I won't bother to read it unless you are talking of the lyrics from Heart-shaped Box.Lord Kangana wrote:I could cut and paste it for you, but I don't want to upset hoboh.

I suspect this conversation is beginning to make about as much sense as Brexit to most people reading it.

The good news is, Peston can report people not being able to get money out of M&G, Aviva and Standard Life, because they won't let them - no chance of a run on those funds then...Lord Kangana wrote:I meant the Robert Peston who caused the collapse of Northern Rock. Never mind.

Well they are more opinions. And I'd not necessarily disagree with some to an extent.bedwetter2 wrote:I note that you didn't query self-regarding, arrogant or biased.BWFC_Insane wrote:

But why is it wrong? The voting patterns are fairly well established.

it is plainly wrong to assume that "educated" / "young" and/or "urban" people are snobbish.

If we're getting back to good old British values, it is important to identify those that need to be under-stairs.thebish wrote:what the toss are you on about BWFCi???BWFC_Insane wrote:Well they are more opinions. Never mind that, I can think of some who need to be under the patio.

Eh? He said the analysis was wrong. I was asking in what way it was wrong in suggesting that more elderly/northern suburban etc people voted leave...that is all....

Although a little empirical evidence from sources other than the fevered imagination of Grauniad journalists would not go amiss.
Assumptions appear to have been made based upon some very dodgy extrapolation.
Anecdotal I know, but all of my contacts, whether in their twenties or sixties and all ages in between voted leave without exception. Many are of generally sound mind, professionals and entreprenuers, university educated. I don't recognise the supposed profile of the leave voters.

nahh - I think you've misread it. he said that "snob" was the wrong word - then suggested alternatives to assuming they are snobs (one of which was "wrong", another was "self-regarding"...)
I doubt either side had a monopoly on wrongness, snobbery or self-regard...

How very dare you.
Although I've got no doubt that you, Your Bishness, have your finger on the pulse. And I know that secretly you agree with me albeit it is a love that dare not speak it's name.
