It's the only reason! And it's why there's been so much back stabbing from the majority of the MPs in the PLP to try an get him out before today! Like when Maggie Beckett was in tears about it all.Bruce Rioja wrote:I wonder if this is why Corbyn's been hanging on?
Over to you, JC. Make it count, Owd Lad

Corbyn did this - get him out (before Chilcot)
Corbyn's fault about this - get him out (before Chilcot)
Corbyn's fault 17m voted Leave - get him out (before Chilcot)
ad infinitum (before Chilcot)

He hasn't said it but was happy to be sponsored by a Christian organisation that does.boltonboris wrote:ProblyLord Kangana wrote:Isn't that that Crabbe fella (or whatever he's called?)

I see Blair's strategy here. If he talks for nearly as long as it took Chilcot, Corbyn will probably have carked it.

Dear me. Now then, have we established yet as to whether she ran Barclays or simply put the twos and ones into plastic bags?

May the bridges I burn light your way

heard her cracking badly today under questionning... having said she had experience of leading "enormous teams" - she coughed out that that was probably a maximum of about 40 people...Bruce Rioja wrote:Dear me. Saw an interview too. She said that she was one of some small team brought in by the then Governor of the BoE (Eddie George maybe?) who worked over the weekend (oh well, my heroinethebish wrote:heard her cracking badly today under questionning... having said she had experience of leading "enormous teams" - she coughed out that that was probably a maximum of about 40 people...Bruce Rioja wrote:Dear me. Truly awful. We seem to be in a situation where anybody who might be a credible leader (on both sides) would rather hide in the background. Bring forth the unqualified wannabes and the mentalists....

Re: The Politics Thread
Wonder what odds you can get on Tim Farron being PM after the next election.
Re: The Politics Thread
I'd give you odds of about 15,000,000 to 1 being that is the number of voters he'd need.Beefheart wrote:Wonder what odds you can get on Tim Farron being PM after the next election.
Couldn't even poll as many as UKIP last time out and a lot of those will return to labour once they have a credible leader.
'Posh boy' Clegg has damaged the Lib Dems for at least the next two elections, Farron looks and sounds a pillock.

Re: The Politics Thread
Point of order here, but didn't Nick 'posh boy' Clegg poll twice as many votes as Farage in the previous but one election? Didn't he propose proportional representation? Weren't Ukipers whinging about their level of support not being in line with seats gained in the last electon, after not having supported that proposal? Are these difficult questions when you're angry but you're not quite sure what with?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

I'm not angry per se, irritated with those who reckon a little tremors in finance, ups and downs over a few days (well a week if we are being specific) spell Armageddon.Lord Kangana wrote:Point of order here, but didn't Nick 'posh boy' Clegg poll twice as many votes as Farage in the previous but one election? As for posh boy, he was so clever he almost lost his own seat!
Maj: 2353 (4.24%)
Swing: 16.55 LD -> Lab
Turnout: 55,481 (75.32%)
He was a disaster, full stop
Re: The Politics Thread
Only as far as getting a referendum Bruce or out of the EU, TBH I'd rather have a pint with Farage than tipping one over Cameron.Bruce Rioja wrote:Yet you backed Farrage?Hoboh wrote:Farron looks and sounds a pillock.

Re: The Politics Thread
Are we ignoring the Leadsom vs. May leadership (next PM) issue or have I missed it?
For me I favour May, having had top level Cabinet experience but if I'm honest I'm not inspired by either.
