The one in Kearsley was only built a couple of years ago!
Any fcuking idiot who votes labour around Bolton should ask themselves, just WTF they are doing with 'reserves' so large whilst cutting away at things or spending on bus/rail interchanges no fcuker will be using or resurfacing St Peters way when it's probably the best road around the town whilst others crumble.
Vote for the fat controller Morris or his muckers and get the soon to be arriving third world Bolton.

Tory Cllr Bob Allen pointed out that in the council’s latest accounts it states that there is £204 million of “usable reserves”.

what's your estimate as to how long £204mill of reserves would fund Bolton's Children's centres? "reserves" are often more complex than headlines suggest. Is the whole £204million available for use on funding Children's Centres?

£90,000 pay off to get rid of him after around 6 months work. I'm absolutely convinced that he was about to expose something (or someone). What possible other explanation is there? Seriously - I'd love to have suggestions.malcd1 wrote:£90,000 pay off to get rid of him after around 6 months work. And how much of the usable reserve is not earmarked or part of the emergencies fund or part of the schools fund?thebish wrote:Hoboh wrote:http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/news/146 ... ss_Bolton/

On the face of it this looks a poor decision I'd agree. But councils are REQUIRED to run large reserves. They aren't stockpiling cash for a laugh.
I do think closing newly opened children's centres though seems a bit stupid. Again we don't have the full set of facts to assess it.
Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Sickening. How morris is still there is beyond me. Incompetence of the highest order. But apparently 'lessons have been learnt'. Hopefully by the voters.Bruce Rioja wrote:I'm absolutely convinced that he was about to expose something (or someone). What possible other explanation is there? In answer to Hoboh's question I suspect people vote for him because they've always voted Labour and or hate tories. No more thought goes into it than.that for a lot of people and he knows he's untouchable.

Perhaps it's our share of EU money that we'll be putting towards the new hospital we're getting in Bolton?

I think they have an approach to that already articulated - they democratically voted on it and don't care whether the cucumber is bent or not, as long as it is wrapped in enough red tape to cause severe discomfort.Hoboh wrote:Your a touch behind the plan is to run Bolton hospital down by removing A&E to Salford or Blackburn, EU my ass!Lord Kangana wrote:Perhaps it's our share of EU money that we'll be putting towards the new hospital we're getting in Bolton?

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
what the feck is America turning into???

A single woman stands in the roadway, feet firmly planted. She poses no obvious threat. She is there to protest the excessive force which Baton Rouge police allegedly deploy against the city’s black citizens. She stands in front of police headquarters, on Saturday. And she is being arrested by Louisiana State police officers who look better prepared for a war than a peaceful protest.

^ It's an emotive picture thats for sure but given the events in Dallas, and that the Police are frequently faced with armed protesters how else could they be dressed?

The problem in the US is colour and guns, some police are racist and other assume anyone they stop is armed and a potential threat.
Answer, I don't have one.

indeed... and if 100 unarmed black people are shot in just one year by police, what else would they do but protest...Harry Genshaw wrote:^ It's an emotive picture thats for sure but given the events in Dallas, and that the Police are frequently faced with armed protesters how else could they be dressed?
I don't blame the police for body armour - but I post the picture as an iconic image of a society going BADLY wrong - chiefly for the reasons Hoboh highlights...
