Well done Beefy. New one for me today too (although for me it's still a PW rather than a PR)Beefheart wrote:New PR PB of 28:08

Did my first stint as a volunteer at Bolton this morning. Surprisingly enjoyable and will definitely do it again.LeverEnd wrote:Nicely done! I tore my calf again at Hull pr so volunteering for a while for me.Beefheart wrote:New PR PB of 28:08
Beefy - I was the marshall pointing the way down the first hill and then shouting encouragement (ok, abuse to Bruce) as you approached the out and back.

Cheers for the support! I was the full sized version of Ed Sheeran that finished narrowly behind the bloke pushing a pram.Burnden Paddock wrote:Did my first stint as a volunteer at Bolton this morning. Just went to.a 21st birthday party and danced energetically to madness and rage Against the machine. Hurts but held up! Couple of weeks break then start preparing for the next injury.Harry Genshaw wrote:Well done Beefy. Hope the nipples are ok![]()

Great running, Beefo. Though 20 seconds faster (or less slow) than last week I'm turning in some crap times just now. Hey ho. Still, I did head from the PR to Keswick to nail SkiddawBeefheart wrote:New PR PB of 28:08

Hi-viz BP may well have been giving me some stick as I passed him, only I couldn't hear him as I was listening to The Rain King by Counting Crows as I passed him. Needless to say.................... I had the last laugh

A 5K 'loosener' in the hotel gym. Now actually wetter than an otter's pocket!

I'm guessing that London Marathon will have their work cut out trying to get their brass back from that drugged-up Ruskie!

Yes I thought that. Obviously just making a point. PR really. No chance when the bent bastards in positions of responsibility in that country think cheating is fine as long as they win. Hope they get banned long termBruce Rioja wrote:I'm guessing that London Marathon will have their work cut out trying to get their brass back from that drugged-up Ruskie!

Re: The athletics/running thread
First 'proper' run last night in...well I can't remember actually. JP Morgan Corporate Challenge, 5.6km around Battersea Park.
31 mins bang on...so about a 27 and a half minute 5k? Wanted sub 30 but that was going to be tough in the heat. Speaking of which, crazy that the only water stop along the way was at 4km, and even that was just a tiny cup. Saw a fair few people getting medical attention along the way because of the heat!
Thing I need to get back on the parkrun train. Feel a long way from the heady days of 22:40 :/

Re: The athletics/running thread
I'm guessing that was why I was seeing people in JPM tee shirts then...I just settled for walking the mile or so to Waterloo, which was plenty warm enough!
Re: The athletics/running thread
Had a doctors appointment this morning so went for an 18k run beforehand. Will have to see how my legs feel tomorrow morning for the park run!
