Indeed, yet lost a marginal seat to the Tories. Whilst hardly reflective, this is the concern with Corbyn. Bigger majorities in safe seats don't win elections.

No, no, no Beefy. You don't get it.

When Bish throws in a 'fact' you must simply accept it. Don't go looking at the bigger picture. That's simply not done.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Men should surely be out shearing and worming on our upland butterfly farms.

Convinced Corbyn has to be being paid by some right wing rich Daily Mail types....you surely, surely to god can't be this incompetent without trying incredibly hard to be?

I think he's a doddering old fool, who seems completely overwhelmed by his responsibility, but is the only person who cannot see what's doing to his party

It's obvious that Corbyn lacks leadership qualities...something that most of his colleagues share from what I've seen of them. I don't think you could put any of them up for leader at the moment and expect they might get Labour into power.

I don't mind Corbyn. He's not really leadership material, but he's harmless enough. Likely he'll split Labour, but the country probably needs a Social Democratic party right now. So no biggie.

Although this is a discussion of somewhat secondary importance, as we've managed to find ourselves in a actual situation where the runner up in Village Idiot of The Year now gets to talk as our representative on the international stage. In the immediacy that is of much greater concern.

A big problem, because they're all elitist, old, snobbish thieving nice people, everyone young is put off being interested enough to make a career of it and the ones who are, are a bunch of self-serving coke heads, straight out of Oxbridge.

absolutely no positivity left and something needs doing to promote decent, young politicians

I don't think he's harmless at all. He's a huge threat to the country. And I think he knows this, but doesn't care.

A threat to the country? Are you not rather overstating his significance there?

Depends upon your point of view. I rather think that if you're happy with Boris as foreign secretary then Corbyn is an irrelevance. If not then yes he's a big threat as he's denying any sort of realistic opposition. In my view under any situation that is quite a significant threat.

I had hoped we were past this kind of stuff - but it seems not...

Owen Smith has branded himself the “normal” candidate for the party leadership because he has a “wife and three kids”. (no coincidence that his pre-contest rival is lesbian then...) :?

I think he was *trying* to use 'normal' to mean 'down to earth' because he's got three kids (so what? :conf: ) the way Eagle has been using 'northern' to mean 'down to earth' (so what? :conf: ), but yes it did come across very badly.
