Re: The Politics Thread
Apparently they're using the Gove/tinfoil hat defence of "yeah, but you can prove anything with facts ", which of course would be correct, as they both said pretty much the same thing. Only one did it 8 years ago.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

I think two things can be true concurrently...
thing is - the tories are actually in power for at least the next 4 years, so, in the grand scheme of things it maketh not all that much material difference to the governance of the UK what is currently happening in the PLP...

Well it does because at a time when they should be making hay they're also, if perhaps not a greater "fecking joke".thebish wrote:Bruce Rioja wrote:As the PLP's credibility goes from strength to strength?thebish wrote:

That said, I've just read Boris's comments when put to the sword by an American journalist - that guy's a fecking joke on an international scale and a total embarrassment. I can't help thinking that TM's just giving him enough rope for him to hang himself by.

Re: The Politics Thread
The speechwriter today admitted that they (don't know if it was a he or a she) had copied in entirety Michelle Obama's speech - excusing it with the cringeworthy (and you might want to try this at work and see how it flys) that she (Melania) was quoting her in the original speech and then the speechwriter forgot to remove the quotes in the final edit.Bruce Rioja wrote:See how you get on with this one, Melania. F*cking genius.

Maybe one that Hoboh's Generation Snowflake can try when submitting its collective coursework on basket weaving too.

Not really these are the types the water cannon Boris bought should be turned on, failing that rubber bullets and tear gas.

Here is the reason why if you are part of a coup, you shoot demonstrators not let them get near you.
Some people have well and truly been set up by the Turkish dictator, I hope the West remembers this well.

I thought I read somewhere that the photo of that incident was actually from Syria. Lots of fake stuff being reported, even on the telly apparently.boltonboris wrote:Is he the guy who was beheaded on the bridge?

Corbyn today, emphasis my own.
Get in the fecking sea, JC.Jeremy Corbyn said rather than wrote:I hope Owen will fully agree with me that our NHS should be free at the point of use, should be run by publicly employed workers working for the NHS not for private contractors, and medical research shouldn’t be farmed out to big pharmaceutical companies like Pfizer and others but should be funded through the Medical Research Council.’
Nero fiddles while Gordon Burns.
Re: The Politics Thread
They're ideologues. Can't find the ones I saw the other day, but the Owen Smith comments people were getting wound up about, the jist of what he said was he'd consider privatisation as a solution if he thought it would make the NHS better. That's a pretty important qualifier!
Anyone who wouldn't consider privatisation if it would make the NHS better is bonkers.
