Awesome result. Feels like the new manager has instilled a different mentality even if the team still needs some work! Pleasing...

Wasn't pretty but defended very well. Great strike from Spearing. He came back on to applaud fans so don't think his injury is bad. Pratley's looked like a serious one. Let's hope not.

Defence was poor first 20. They had three clear cut chances. Spearing and Pratley did pretty well. Wilson? 23...waste of a shirt along with Madine.

Bit harsh. Wilson is no winger but kept things pretty tight down that side. Madine was fine imo particularly in the 2nd half

Hmmm. Wilson being no winger. Fairy nuff. Wilson ain't much of a footballer on that showing. Fell over a lot, frightened of tackling. I thought we looked better with Proctor on, Madine was completely anonymous for me, to be fair he didn't get much service, but I'm struggling to recall a single decent shot on target from him.

He's not going to get many shots on goal if he's up top on his own and facing away from goal. I thought he did ok bringing others into the game, holding the ball up etc. Perhaps I'm more forgiving because we've won :D

I looked at the formation before kick off and it looked a very cautious selection. At times in the first half it almost seemed like we were playing 6-2-1 with Taylor and Wilson doubling up. Madine for me was excellent. He was isolated but won virtually every header and tried his best to link up play with no one behind him. Great application and a great 3 points. Apparently Pratley heard a crack when he went over. Long term injury it sounds like.

Pratley's looked bad the minute he went down. Shame because I thought him and Spearing had pretty good games. It'd have been between those two for motm for me.

Could easily have been 3 down by 25m in. But after that we pulled back up to speed.

Leaving a centre-forward up with no-one near to him is a bit mysterious. More so what that man is Madine. Didn't feel he's willing to put himself in there. Once Dr. Proctor came on things were far better.

I thought Wilson did what he could. But playing oddly out of position.

Unsure what Pratley did all day until his injury. Howard in goal didn't look as commanding as I'd hope. Wheater played well & did really put his body on the line a few times & I thought it we were shown a nice Beever. Taylor and Buxton had good debut's, Moxey and Vela were OK & Spearing worked hard, plus a very good goal.

A bit of fortune maybe, but better organised than last year and some determination I've not been used to seeing of late.

Anyway, that is equal to 25% of last season's wins !!
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

That was a hardworking performance today. First 25 minutes we didn't look too good defensively, Sheffield United looked very bright and had at least 3 clear cut chances to score. As soon as we scored though, and what a belting volley that was by Spearing, I felt Sheffield United didn't have too much to offer.

Thought Spearing did well and both our central defenders did ok. Really don't see what Madine has to offer and Vela was anonymous first half. He obviously had a taling to half time cos he was a bit better. Thought Proctor did ok when he came on.

Overall we deserved that win.. workmanlike performance and I will take that all day long :)
