For new signings, ask the man from the Pru

Wonderful.

Nothing like a bit of short-termism. No wonder this club is on it's arse.
Really...? IMO Finney was shite & far from promising same as the other 'so called' promising young players such as Maher & Threlkeld, and Walker is no better - as BWFCI has touched on unfortunately we have no choice in the short term & can't prioritise bringing through 'alleged' promising young players as our short term priority is bringing in experienced lower league players to try & get us promoted ASAP

The club is on its arse thanks to PG & ED not the current regime.

I guess we can cancel the contract of the likes of Wilkinson and maybe Walker (????) if it is about numbers.

Pretty disturbing we are still under such scrutiny. It would be nice to know more about the actual real details around our finances.
Think we will look for subsidised loans in. Iles suggests we may have space for those. Also if Holding plays perhaps that will bring in an extra payment that frees up some room.

Point was we are under budget restrictions. But this isn't a surprise. They've signed more than anyone could have expected. Be nice if we could add a forward or two though.

Normally, I'd be inclined to agree but the priority has to be getting us out of this league as quickly as possible. We appear to have a combination of very limited funds; an embargo limiting our budget even further; and a few high earners that we can't get off the wage bill so it might just be a case of us trying to manage our resources as best we can. Parky and the board probably feel that signing a second left back to offer cover and competition to our only other left back will help to give us a better shot at promotion than trying to bed Finney into the first team in a position in which we already have some options. It isn't ideal but it's where we are.

Nothing better than ascribing the state we're in to be the best state you've ever seen. Then bemoaning the fact we not still in it, blameing the people who got us out of it in the first place.

I'm not blaming anyone, I'm just arguing that short-termism might be the right way to go about things in our present situation.

I'm hoping this loan chap is a good un otherwise we'd have been better off hanging onto Maher or Threlkeld

They were two very odd releases.

Victims of circumstance I guess but also the result of not being able to shake off that hard core of highly paid under achievers.

Maybe PP didn't fancy them anyway; he's now hired an entire back five.

On Finney, per BN: “I think he’ll get a club and in normal circumstances it’s a decision we wouldn’t probably have made but in this tight-knit squad we have to be confident every player can go in and play a prolonged period,” he told The Bolton News.

“We are in a situation where numbers are important, so this was something we had to do. I felt Alex wasn’t going to figure.

“We’re looking to open up spaces all the time. We brought Andy in this week and until the end of the month it won’t be any different. We have a couple of irons in the fire.”

Parkinson's history suggests he prefers experience to youth.

I do like that he explains.

I think we got shut of Threlkeld & Maher before he came through the door.

I must confess I'd forgotten Dorian Dervite was alive.

I might be proven wrong but I doubt Finney will rock up at a club any higher than league two.

There is Honeyball as well...? I'm not too bothered all things considered. Just odd he played Tues - make or break game for him Inguess.

We do seem to have a bizarre view that some of the younger players are the future. That's fine, if they're any good. If they're not any good then they're not likely to be part of the future and should be moved on. If that frees up cash for a player the manager is going to use that's fine by me.

So it's not the fault of the current regime that the club has not got the money they said they had so we are on special measures?

Long term, we will end up right in the sh*t again with this chancer in charge.

We were on special measures as a condition of the takeover. Nothing to do with not having money they said they had. The league doubted it right from the off.

As a fan though the new owners so far have in the main been positive compared to where we were surely?

Jeremy Corbyn seems positive too given his situation.

An honest opinion on Moxey please? My viewing of him is limited, even sparse, but what little I have seen he doesn't look worse than some we've had at left back. We've never really had a star in that position since Ricky Gardner and quite a few worse than our striker cum part-time lefty Henrik Pedersen. Radio commentators don't seem as harsh on him as some of our fans on here, so what's the unbiased view on Moxey?
