Club says next week's game at home to Everton U23 is £5 in, cash only (no swapsies).

"Only the West Stand lower tier will be open for this fixture to Wanderers supporters. Visiting Everton supporters will be housed in the Franking Sense South Stand lower tier."

7pm KO, it says. Proper reserves game.

Segregation at the ressies? Whats that all about?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

I bet they'd love to not bother, but I imagine it's a legal requirement In This Day And Age.

Just realised it's nearly 8 years since I last went to one. That makes me feel old.

An hour to go, nearly team-time. Howard playing, Vela captain, apparently. Also - if there's a draw after 90 mins there's a penalty shootout to an extra point #tinpot

Howard; Wilson, Buxton, Beevers, A Taylor; C Taylor, Vela, Alex Perry, Jack Earing; Proctor, Woolery
Subs: Jake Turner, Moxey, Spearing, Madine, Walker, Wheater, Wilkinson

First thoughts: Wilkinson can't get a start, but that may be because we needed 5 starters from Saturday's XI and Proctor was deemed to need the minutes (Howard, Buxton, Beevers, Vela the others). Think it's two debuts for Earing and Perry, who are listed as midfielders. Presume Andrew Taylor and Wilson at full-back with Buxton in the middle, but I may be wrong.

Wilkinson and Walker not getting a start in a gumbygame like this must mean they're for the chop, right?

We could lose 15-0 tonight and nobody in their right minds would give a toss. But please, please, please no more injuries!

We are playing Everton Under 23s in a cup format that most clubs voted against and don't want....

This for me is the definition of modern football gone wrong. If I were Parky I'd tell em all to walk around and not bother breaking a sweat. I've seen friendlies with more significance than this.

Course you would, because you are a contrary Mary. But seriously this is the shittest competition imaginable.

Should have kept it as a lower league tournament. Chance for some glory for leagues one and two.

not in your right mind, mate...

I, too, am old fashioned about supporting my team and don't like us losing. I don't think it is "contrary" for a fan to mind about his team losing 15-0...

Ready to roll and the stadium is packed to the rafters....oh, it isn't? Ah, I know, Bury are playing Morecambe so...ah, well, plenty elbow room then. Zico is on the mike with Chris Kelly....apparently..

Oh good, Bury have scored, that's a talking point for half-an-hour. Buxton and Beevers are our central defenders. We have a little sally forth and win a throw...and....they they win one. "Eerie atmosphere" states micman as no 49 gets a mention for the Scousers. Free kick for them for an assault on a minor then.....no 66 gets a mention. Sounds like a chorus from "Jailhouse Rock"

Vela figuring ( captain tonight) , mic men have a chat and then Vela starts us off again and.....they defend well. Taylor Sallies, Vela and Wilson get a mention..a few more Bolton names, then the Blues have a dash at us via no 53. Dyson, Yates...etc, and they win a corner and.....Walsh sends one over and.....it clears the field for a throw in this Check-a-Trade Trophy extravaganza. Somebody yoddels in the silence and then.....Buxton chests one out for a throw. A quick nip over to Bury then.....we go, they clear and visit and "you never had pace" Zico is cruelly told by micman......
