Re: For new signings, ask the man from the Pru
I think we'll get three in (one GK, two outfielders, probably PL loans). Although it's obviously not just up to us, I really don't think that Ken and Parky are f**king about. Wouldn't astonish me if we release Walker and push a couple of players out on loan to places like Carlisle, even if they're not mad-keen and we have to foot the wages. Remember, the abolition of emergency loans should mean a *lot* busier deadline day for lower-league clubs: barring the signing of free agents, this is it until January.

James Henry apparently in the frame for a loan move. Can play wide or central and certainly has a shot on him.
Uma mesa para um, faz favor. Obrigado.

...but is rated by a few other clubs: would he drop from Champo to L1?Bijou Bob wrote:James Henry apparently in the frame for a loan move. Can play wide or central and certainly has a shot on him.
If so, he'd be a very promising signing. 27 yrs old, 6ft 1in (for BWFCi

Oh and a few folks now saying GK Ben Alnwick is having a medical. Now 29, the extravagantly-bearded Tynesider came up through Sunderland ranks (and England youth up to U21) then moved to Spurs but was loaned out a lot, later bit-parted for Barnsley, Charlton and Orient before moving to Peterborough in summer 2014. Two days ago, went on transfer list "for personal reasons".

From Iles in the BN:
So let's update the INCOMING DEAL-O-METER...
(likely)
KESHI ANDERSON (PALACE)
BEN ALNWICK (PETERBOROUGH UNITED)
GEDION ZELALEM (ARSENAL)
JAMES HENRY (WOLVES)
TOM HATELEY (UNATTACHED)
IAN LAWLOR (MANCHESTER CITY)
THOMAS SORENSEN (MELBOURNE CITY)
(unlikely)

Guessing that Veloso will be a late breaking story then.

I think it's prescient with any new signing, to immediately do a Twitter search for '[insert player name here] is shit', just to see what we're dealing with. Alnwick brings up a few tweets, but it's not overwhelming hate. Not as much as his brother Jak (who once played a couple of Premier League games for Newcastle, before hurtling down the divisions), and nowhere near Rachubka levels.
On that basis, he'll do as a back up.

And of course Alnwick (pronounced annick) was in a sex tape.
Erstwhile target wingman Carayol has left Boro (mutual consent) to join Forest.

I think we dodged a bullet with Carayol. He has a reputation for going missing and isn't noted for his work rate.

Iles:
Word from Wanderers is that keeper deal very close now. More excitingly, potential for "three or four more"...

b..b..b... that'd make 4 or 5 in total! this could be the greatest transfer window of all time! (or not...)Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Iles:Word from Wanderers is that keeper deal very close now. More excitingly, potential for "three or four more"...

Well the three or four more are the key. See Parky said he wanted up to 6 yesterday....
Thing is with the keeper thing seemingly done we are likely one in one out....so where are the outs......

maybe we are NOT 100% tied to one-in-one-out...

Maybe, but Parky said the other day 'everyone has seen the reports and we are restricted by numbers'. And the reports he referred to from the BN and BBC said a squad size of 23.thebish wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote:Well the three or four more are the key. See Parky said he wanted up to 6 yesterday....

Sign a keeper and we are back to 23. So unless the league change their minds, without it being 100% confirmed it certainly seems likely to be the case.

Re: For new signings, ask the man from the Pru
Possible we will get the incomings sorted, then while they're going through the FL we find clubs to whom we can loan players like Walker, Wilkinson, maybe even Woolery or Wilson
I doubt we'd have bothered trying to sort out 6 (more) transfers if we didn't have a plan
