It'd be a bit daft if he didn't give Zambezidam a go tonight.

It's kind of the whole point of the stupid affair to give "youth" a try.

Underused players (four league starts or fewer) who could have a go tonight include

GK Alnwick
RB Wilson
RB Spooner
CB Perry
CB Thorpe
LB Taylor, A
LB Honeyball
CM Derik
CM Earing
LW Taylor, C
RW Ameobi
CF Anderson
CF Samizadeh

...only trouble is, the FL insist on the "five regulars" rule. It's darkly amusing that they did this so that the competition wouldn't be "disrespected", then did that themselves by allowing in the B-teams of mainly bang-average clubs from the top two tiers.

Right thing to do. First teamers need the practice. Hopefully Osede can make a name for himself as a midfielder what can actually move. And SamizAdeh on the bench as well.

Match facts: Blackpool are playing in tangerine and the stadium isn't quite full. Talk of a "nervous start", well. it is Blackpool.
Oh, they nearly score.....Blackpool, that is. Oh, we win a corner and......and.....it's 1-0 tu us.... :oyea:

Ameobi!

#BWFC start in a 4-2-3-1 system. @derikosede at CB, Tom Thorpe in midfield with James Henry and Sammy Ameobi outwide.

And.....mic man comments there are more ball boys than crowd in this Check-a-trade World Cup. Vela seems to have had a fresh gallon of two-stroke and a shot of redex tonight. Kevin Friend is the ref, and.....we do sound to be awake most of the time. "Some of the football is a treat to watch".....says Zico.... before Henry get the ball stuck in his feet. Mic man accuses Zico of almost putting the mockers on it all as a deflected shot gets them a corner...that's cleared off the line. Anybody out there...?

And......Cullen breaks for the Tangs and....we clear and go for another stroll. A pass ot two amongst the Whites then a.....goal kick. A Blackpool break and then a flurry at us and.......Cullen's shot is well blocked by Vela. Five to go and still we lead.....as they get a corner. Out it goes, back it comes and....Proctor almost clears but back they come and Alnwick has to be sharp to clear. Clough goes....and micmen have a chat about this and that (memories of Hulton Lane etc). We sally forth and....a pass or two ends with the keeper then Ameobi gives a free away. The excitement is nerve-shredding......

One min extra and......half-time and we lead 1-0. Brew time.....

Corner us, Henry, Proctor and.....wide. Philliskirk one of the offs for the Tangs. Mic men have a chat and a laugh before Ameobi gets a chance to break...and it all ends up with a goalkick.

The Barcelona and Real Madrid scouts have apparently left the stadium and gone down to The Olympus for supper instead.
Thorpe gets a couple of mentions as does Derik. Free kick them off a Thorpe challenge and.....we've played seven minutes this half.

Zico dreams of another couple of goals for us and....Ameobi sounding really industrious but the Tangs try a visit. Referee Friend isn't, and we don't get a free kick. Tangs try a tentative visit and...the Blackpool hundred roar them on.....they have a header cleared off our line.
