Set of Borestads.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Why wouldn't I? I left Lancashire over 53 years ago and the argot has changed. I like to have some idea what you chaps are talking about from time to time. Okay, I googled it, Pru.
Still a bit confused tbh.Adjective[edit]
all fur coat and no knickers (not comparable)

Basically a person with knowledge, understanding and depth.
Fur coat and no knickers is a shallow know now't Hal.

Re: General Chit Chat
I'm pretty sure there's a "debate" with some folk (I think, Southerners) claiming the proper phrase ie. superficially good but no back up, is all fur coat and knickers (rather than no knickers)
They're clearly wrong though, because that makes no f*cking sense.

But my knowledge does not extend to modern slang in a foreign country.

Not sure it's overly modern, Monty.

Re: General Chit Chat
I'm abroad at the moment, but I've got to start looking at jobs back home for when I return in the summer.
Ideally, I'll find something nearer to home, but at present, there are two more or less identical opportunities; one in Liverpool (central) and one in Leeds (about 2 miles out of the centre). Has anyone commuted from Bolton to Leeds or Bolton to Liverpool? I'll be in Edgworth area if that makes a difference. I don't really want to work in Liverpool if I can help it, given that it's full of Scousers, but I'll cope if I have to. Of the two, I would prefer Leeds, but not if the journey is going to be a pain in the ar5e. Don't know whether the much vaunted electrification of the railways will play a part.
Any thoughts?

Leeds would be a pain in the ass, the M62 gets buggered up regular.Winter Hill White wrote:I'm abroad at the moment, but I've got to start looking at jobs back home for when I return in the summer.

Depends what your view of a decent commute is though, I guess. 45 minutes is probably a good day and 90 mins - 2 hours on a bad one about right for you Hobes (discounting a proper crash that closes the road)?Hoboh wrote:Leeds would be a pain in the ass, the M62 gets buggered up regular.Winter Hill White wrote:I'm abroad at the moment, but I've got to start looking at jobs back home for when I return in the summer.

If it was only on commute, I'd pick Liverpool every time, I reckon.

What lap will Hamilton and Rosberg accidentally crash on, if Hamilton needs to play the "gamble" card?
