I note Labour slipped to fourth place in the Lincolnshire by-election last night, falling behind the Lib Dems and UKIP.

Really enjoying the Corbyn political revolution and the groundswell of popular opinion he was going to ride along on.

Where were all the people saying this at the time of the leadership election and what apologies are they going to those of us who knew how disastrous it was now? They owe some massive apologies to the people of this country who their indulgence and selfishness had condemned to at least 10 more years of Tory government. Suspect as usual they'll all just slink off into the background and pretend politics isn't for them for a while.

If they increase their vote share in meaningful seats then I will applaud. I won't hold my breath.

So someone who has been an MP for most of his working life is going to be branded anti politics and anti establishment.

Brilliant. Some amateur in the Labour party has gone 'oh look at Trump, he was an old, grumpy joke figure that nobody gave a cat in hell's chance to. Just like Jezza. Lets peddle the anti-establishment line that worked for Donald.....'

Aren't you supposed to be away in the Islands of the dogs? We were all enjoying a break....

Ended up on Lanzarote, one place I've never been and it's fabulous.
The place is a mecca for cyclists, all forms of sea sports and hang gliding, superb views from the top of the volcano's, masses of unspoilt 'moonscape' and very friendly locals.
Been in the sea a few times, well brown and ready for winter
Hired a little car, Renault Twingo, pleased we did given some of the mountain roads, only problem was the wife treating the Euro like peseta's done the whole Island including some of the so called 'roads'.
Met my Russian FSB/secret agent who thanked me for all the hard work getting the Brexit vote, told me not to worry about that Labour remain clown who reckoned the result was fixed.

Plus, they are working 15 hour days to come up with this stuff.......

What they miss is that this branding works if someone is new on the political scene. An unknown politically. Trump was famous, but politically he could be presented however his advisors and he saw fit.

Corbyn can't be re-launched (apart from maybe out of a cannon) because he already has widespread public perception, and even if you can fight against that, he has about 30 years of political history that the media can dig up and won't go away. He can say how dysfunctional politics is, but will always have the minor issue that he's happily drawn a salary for 30 odd years playing a part in that dysfunction. And it comes across as disingenuous. This is what the current 'leading lights' in Labour don't understand. Blair wasn't initially massively popular because of spin or craft, but simply because he was presented as a breath of fresh air, contrasting against a very tired, and old school, Tory government. Blair was hip and happening and went to the Brits and had endorsements from the "Brit pop" acts. It of course was planned, and not accidental, but it was the absolutely perfect contrast at the time. Corbyn could get as many young, hip and happening or radical folk to endorse him as he wants, he will still be widely seen as a political dinosaur trying to win a fight that was lost in 1983.

The Investigatory Powers Bill, or as it has been more aptly named, the Snooper’s Charter, is now as good as passed. It just needs Royal Assent before it becomes law.

^ I don't think theres a great deal wrong with what he actually said in the end and personally, I'd agree with most of it but there's definitely a problem both with the delivery and how it's reported . Corbyn is so far removed from the spin doctors of the Blair and Brown era but they definitely missed Alistair Campbell this week. That the BBC are reporting this and now ignoring the Red Cross comments about the NHS, Israel trying to influence who UK ministers should be. A massive own goal for Labour imo
