Re: The Weather
10 minutes ago - a hail storm, and I thought that I was about to have my roof presented to me at my feet. Now - a beautiful blue sky. Mental as owt.

Re: The Weather
February was the coldest month ever recorded in Montreal. The mean temperature for the first three months of 2015 was 0.1C above the coldest first quarter in record (1994). I can see why they changed "global warming" to "climate change".

Two days of wild winds ( and that means wild winds) and rain and.....now we have sunshine and not enough wind to blow a butterfly. Crackers.

That, Tango, is because I was off for the past two days and was back in today. I'm now off until the 13th. Sorry, folks.TANGODANCER wrote:Two days of wild winds ( and that means wild winds) and rain and.....now we have sunshine and not enough wind to blow a butterfly. Crackers.

Re: The Weather
*squelches back into the house*
Rain, rain and more &%$! rain. Add to that frequent rolling, roiling and rumbling storms and it makes it heaven for creatures with webbed feet or gills. It also tends to cause funnel web spiders, which live in burrows, to wander around looking for somewhere dry to rest their weary heads. Yesterday to today (Mon 0900 to Tues 0900) blessed us with 94.6mm of precipitation. Last week 45mm turned up on the one day. April so far has produced 255mm of water droplets over the estate of Château Dujon.
Sorry for the rant; like the cats, I think I'm suffering from lack of sunlight (and too much water without scotch).

Hell of a thunder and lightning storm tonight. Started over Manchester way and seems to be somewhere ove Bury right now. Masses of forked lightning and a real downpour. Dog not happy at all, he's terrified of storms.

Dropped some ice chunks the size of golf balls!
I await someone trying to sue God for personal injuries and a campaign against weather like that on the great bastion of democracy, Facebook.

It's that bad that after more than a few minutes outside I start to feel ill

Re: The Weather
Yesterday Montreal got hit by a microburst. What's that, you ask? Well, I did because I'd never heard of the thing. The radio said it was like a tornado but the opposite. That is, apparently, a downblast of air rather than a suck up. All I can say it was like a bomb. The area I live in was not hit but two miles away my ex-wife's area was splattered. Karma? We were without power for 12 hours and others much longer. There is a park 100 metres from my old house where some amateur took a video.
