Parky's Men v Mrs Brown's Boys - Southend Utd (A) 21/01/17
Got my ticket for this one and making a weekend of it with Mrs Domingos & our 5 year old. I'm feeling optimistic (though no evidence base for it) and hoping to see our first win of 2017.

I have this one as quite important in my head. Given January has yielded a scabby last minute point at cov, 2 well thoghg but utterly worthless games against premiership opposition, and a whimpering defeat at home to a team who hadnt wom since jan aage fjortoft last laced up his boots I think nothing less than a win will get us 'back on track'. Lose and it will be a very poor month for us. Even season defining in a way cos we'll always be playing catch up then.

Not in. Flying visit to Bolton for a 50th and an 80th birthday celebrations.
Second time in a week I've had match plans scuppered.

Worry not, I'll not be there spreading my gypsy's curse around. My only other visit was the 5-2 defeat in 1996. I saw 3 of our our 4 defeats in that magnificent season despite going to less than half the games.

Club has confirmed pay on the day, but it'll be £25 (£22 for advance ticket).KeyserSoze wrote:oof i'm sorely tempted.

Are we likely to see changes tomorrow at Southend? This is what Parky said in the B.N.:
" “Southend are a team who’ll turn the back four around, get on top of us, and we’ll have to be ready,” he said. “We will make sure the team we pick is right.”
Having picked more or less the same team for a while, what do we think we can we expect tomorrow then?

Barring tiredness, same team. We haven't got anyone to strengthen it with.TANGODANCER wrote:Are we likely to see changes tomorrow at Southend? This is what Parky said in the B.N.:

Derik, perhaps for Thorpe. Though I think Thorpe is better defensively.
Think that is the only change we can make that won't lower the quality drastically.

Out of interest, I looked up his record. In all comps over his two seasons with us, he played in 30 games, and we won 8, drew 11, lost 11. That's a 26.6% win ratio, 36.6% loss ratio.
In the eight full seasons since he left us, we've played 336 league games, won 93 (27.7%) and lost 152 (45.2%).
So the good news is that without him our win percentage has gone up by 1.1%. The bad news, if you insist, is that our loss percentage has gone up 8.6% to an almost 50/50 chance of defeat and, in a not unrelated development, we've gone down two divisions.

Anybody brave enough to predict a result? Ah, okay, 2-0 the Whites then....

1-1. Vela for us, Ranger for them.

Ranger is suspended from the club so that'll be one nil to us then!Bruce Rioja wrote:Peter Thompson wrote:I can't see anything other than a 2-0 Southend win....
