In my attempted outrage a friend on FB pointed out that the UK has a similar policyLord Kangana wrote:Just thought I'd make sure this made another page.KeyserSoze wrote:https://twitter.com/CNBC/status/826081756524716032
So we've checked vain, racist and misogynist. And now, this is the dumbest thing I've ever read.BREAKING: Trump to sign exec. order this morning requiring that for every 1 new regulation, 2 regulations have to be revoked - sr. official
The man's a f*cking stupid c*nt. If I'm being honest. Which I have a duty to be now.

although given the framework for it was withdrawn two weeks ago, I dunno what's happened with it https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... ork-manual" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The wording of the order is still very :/

It pools a lot of power into the executive, and the only exemptions are 'regulations issued with respect to a military, national security, or foreign affairs function of the United States' and ' regulations related to agency organization, management, or personnel; '

So, if your boss issues a directive and you refuse to carry out you would not expect to be fired then?BWFC_Insane wrote:Read the official statement from Trump, firing the Attorney General. Accuses her of "insubordination and betrayal".
This really is, so so similar to Nazi Germany now. The tone of it, almost read like something you could imagine being drafted for someone before they are taken out to be shot.

Well, she was exploring the legality of the executive order. Which is her job.Hoboh wrote:So, if your boss issues a directive and you refuse to carry out you would not expect to be fired then?BWFC_Insane wrote:Read the official statement from Trump, firing the Attorney General. But that wasn't my point. The language being used. Is like something from 1930's Germany. Is Trump going to fire, bully, harrass anyone who doesn't agree with him? Because that seems to be the way of it right now. Which makes him, the biggest snowflake going, does it not?

The guys a goon and in trying to look tough and decisive he's looking an even bigger pillock. I just can't share this outrage, verging on hysteria in some quarters, about him. Perhaps I should

If they suggest that what you're doing may not be legally enforceable then a wise man takes advice. An absolute fecking 4uckwit with a Hitler complex sacks them because it doesn't tally up with his completely un-thought-out dictatorial directive.Hoboh wrote:So, if your boss issues a directive and you refuse to carry out you would not expect to be fired then?BWFC_Insane wrote:Read the official statement from Trump, firing the Attorney General. The fact he's sacked almost the entire State Department management and most ambassadors and the fact he seems to have a small cabal of advisors running the roost, including his son in law. Apart from him and Pence, none of them seem to be elected by anyone, have any experience or qualifications. Seems to me that he's been taking tips from Putin and Erdogan on the Dummies guide to being a dictator President.

Pence is the reason I'm not altogether in favour of impeachment. Steve Bannon is the one who worries me most and seems to be getting Trump to articulate and implement all his Breibart ideas.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:The fact he's sacked almost the entire State Department management and most ambassadors and the fact he seems to have a small cabal of advisors running the roost, including his son in law. He's clearly got a thick skin, to go with his thick head, but is it thick enough to have this level of animosity for every second, of every day for the next 4 f*cking years? I'm not sure any human, or trump can handle that

When you're as rich as he is, why would you care? I'm more worried about the inevitable war or pseudo war he will start and the ramifications of that.boltonboris wrote:He's clearly got a thick skin, to go with his thick head, but is it thick enough to have this level of animosity for every second, of every day for the next 4 f*cking years? Re: The Politics Thread
I don't think he's as rich as he'd like you to think. There is a hell of a lot of debt involved in construction. He's also such a good businessman that had he stuck his inheritance in a savings account he would be richer. This comes from a financial type whose company did the sums.BWFC_Insane wrote:When you're as rich as he is, why would you care? On less pressing matters than the impending apocalypse, I thought Ken Clarke spoke brilliantly yesterday. Its a pity he's leaving Parliament.
Still, we've always got Michael 'As someone who's not in Government I can't deliver on those sums' Gove to replace him.
And of course, good ole Borisis in government, so I await the imminent announcement of £350m/week to the NHS.

Re: The Politics Thread
Serious question to those intent on remain,
You lost a referendum
You went to court and obtained a ruling that article 50 could only be initiated by parliament, you lost,
Is it not about time the toys stopped coming out of the pram and everyone worked together to get a decent deal that suits all parties or are you going to continue screaming anti-democratic until you get your way?
