Supposedly just £3.5 mil for Clough. How the feck do we accept that yet Charlton got four times that for Lookman?
Re: Hanging on, January Transfer Window thread 2017
Can't see anyone wanting to go to Forest at the moment, the club is in meltdown and Clough wouldn't be the new manager's player.........whoever takes that poison chalice.

Unless they get Parky, I suppose.Bijou Bob wrote:Can't see anyone wanting to go to Forest at the moment, the club is in meltdown and Clough wouldn't be the new manager's player.........whoever takes that poison chalice.
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

We've signed Viv Solomon-Otabor on loan. He's a winger apparently. Meanwhile, Nixon is reporting that Scunny are in for Beevers.

Alan Nixon @reluctantnicko
Forest. Zach Clough interest is genuine. Would pay about 2m in stages. Bolton under p. But we are talking Fawaz ... so don't count your cash

Scunthorpe making a low bid for Beevers at Bolton.

The accepted bid for Clough is £2.5M.

If Clough is half as good as many think, others would be all over that. Which would drive the price up.Nicko58 wrote:The accepted bid for Clough is £2.5M.

Andros Townsend has been named on the bench at Palace tonight, which probably means we aren't getting Ameobi back.
Since signing le Fondre it's all gone a bit south, hasn't it?

Re: Hanging on, January Transfer Window thread 2017
Is £2.5m really the accepted bid for Clough? I thought they'd already turned down £2m and £3.5m???
EDIT: Sorry, just seen £2.5m is the figure Iles has just posted on the blog. £3.5m was the figure reported by Sky

On the face of it seems like £2.5m is poor business.
It feels like we were/are in real financial danger if we are accepting that bid.

Selling your best players and replacing them with loanees is the road to shit.

Re: Hanging on, January Transfer Window thread 2017
Bad job if Clough goes that cheap. Always the case with clubs like us these days; we get a bit of talent, somebody steps in with a cut price offer and it's back to the drawing board. Like I said elsewhere, two million pounds sound like big money but in football it's pocket change. Pogba's car probably cost more than most of our squad. Ah well, no doubt the wheel will keep turning and who knows...?

Re: Hanging on, January Transfer Window thread 2017
Gutted. Surprised he's agreed to go considering the amount of strife at Forest but let's see what else comes out of this. Especially with signing ALF.
Maybe there is some form of 'buy-back' clause in this deal for Clough?

I agree. Long way from the quotes about not letting our best players go. Think we can forget promotion. Financial survival might be the aim once againbristol_Wanderer3 wrote:On the face of it seems like £2.5m is poor business.

Lee Anderson is now saying that we haven't yet accepted a bid for Clough, however it sounds very much as if we will.

Re: Hanging on, January Transfer Window thread 2017
So does that mean we've accepted a bid that is, say, 2.6M?

Fck me, we've gone from an owner who would do his best to not be recognised down his local boozer to having legal arguments on facebook and transfer offers on twitter!
