Apparently this Preston PR on Satdi is fairly flat, BP. So man-up, you 4ucking c*nt.Burnden Paddock wrote: ↑Mon Mar 27, 2017 6:13 pmTwo runs into another comeback and feeling the effects of a very busy weekend and no proper runs this year. Deliberately limiting the distances at the moment, but found 2k embarrassingly tough on my legs this evening. No back pain though, which is a good sign.
Hopefully ready for a slow, flat PR (Worsley?) in a week or two. Fingers (and everything else) crossed.

A week or two early for me. Volunteering at Bolton and Toby brekkie instead.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Mon Mar 27, 2017 8:28 pmApparently this Preston PR on Satdi is fairly flat, BP. Take it easy BP. Don't be taking any notice if that nasty 'flat track' bully Bruce. :0)
By the way can I ask how many have signed up for the Bolton Half?

Re: The athletics/running thread
I won't be doing that. Struggling to manage 5k in one piece. Have signed up for a 10k in East Yorkshire in mid May though, or as i prefer to say, 'entered Beverley'. Been trying to shake off a hamstring injury since the new year but finally got back up to 6 miles last night. Went out with a dodgy right hamstring and came in with a tight left quad!
I hate getting old

Had sore left quad for a few weeks now. Only hurts when I first start, fine when the muscle warms up. Haven't run this week to try and rest it before my half marathon on Sunday.Harry Genshaw wrote: ↑Thu Mar 30, 2017 4:18 pmBeen trying to shake off a hamstring injury since the new year but finally got back up to 6 miles last night. I thought that once when I had trouble with that area. Got progressively worse and I could barely walk. Several hospital visits and it turned out to be fcuked metatarsals. Had shoe inserts made and problem solved. You might still be safe on the old Rioja yetBruce Rioja wrote: ↑Fri Mar 31, 2017 12:46 pmGot a sore big toe but it should be ok for tomorrow's PR. Gout! You rich hedonistic bastard you!
I'm watching Trolls while babysitting my nephew in preparation for parkrun. Ok there's a bottle of wine involved and a beer or two, but better than a 3am stint in the Alma.

First park run for a while today and first run with effort in ages. Sadly no time recorded. They put some numpty on the scanning today apparently!

Last night's lesson is that girls who are 20 years younger than you, are half your height and half your weight, can have a deceptive level of alcohol consumption ability. And, she'd been out until 4 yesterday morning and had started again at 3 in the afternoon!

KS is a animal. No shame in being outdrunk by her!Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Sat Apr 01, 2017 4:35 pmLast night's lesson is that girls who are 20 years younger than you, are half your height and half your weight, can have a deceptive level of alcohol consumption ability. Fortunately BP managed to scan my time correctly and it was nearly 3 mins quicker than my horribly hungover effort from last week. Will aim for sub 20 in my wanderers shirt at Scunthorpe parkrun next week.

1:38:24 today at Paddock Wood half marathon. Not my best time but I beat the boss by a minute and a half.
Re: The athletics/running thread
Sounds like a decent run. Was it a pb course?Gary the Enfield wrote: ↑Sun Apr 02, 2017 9:44 pm1:38:24 today at Paddock Wood half marathon. Not my best time but I beat the boss by a minute and a half.

Re: The athletics/running thread
Definitely. I'm not pb fit but if you wanted to give it a go I would recommend. This and Wantage are two of the flattest halfs I've run.LeverEnd wrote: ↑Sun Apr 02, 2017 10:06 pmSounds like a decent run.
