Fitness fanatic as well. I got in the car earlier and heard on the wireless that they were interviewing former Middlesbrough players regarding what was clearly the death of a former player and my thoughts immediately turned to Paul Gascoigne. I was stunned to learn that it was Ehiogu. RIP.

I can only remember the episode in which he thought that eating toothpaste meant that he'd be able to fly.

Chris Cornell. Singer in my favourite band ever. Gone today aged 52. The greatest. I'm sad. Today is a bad day.
Re: This weeks RIP's........
Very sad. Not my favourite band but I've seen them and he was an outstanding rock vocalist both with them and Audioslave.
Very sad news especially at that age.
RIP

Untimely. So fundamental to the 'grunge' movement of the early nineties but was so much more than that.
A great talent gone.

Read about that. A guy spends his entire career hurling himself around on two wheels at ridiculous speeds and ends up getting knocked off of his push bike.
Some years ago I got to know Sean Emmett, who was then the British Superbike champion, because I worked for his main sponsor and we always took customers to race meetings. This one time he offered to take me round Oulton Park on the two-seater inspection bike. My arse fell out and I refused. One of my biggest regrets!

Gee, Mr Suave and a movie legend dies at 89. The Saint and Ivanhoe, The Persuaders, Maverick etc, long before James Bond. R.I.P indeed ...

I guess not too many remember Ivanhoe where I first saw him, Tango. I enjoyed a lot of his work (never saw the Persuaders). RIP John Noakes.
I grew up watching him on Blue Peter and took a lot of his 'stunts' as pretty run of the mill. However, I watched a clip of him climbing Nelson's column recently and hadn't appreciated how terrifying dangerous that was. No 'Health and Safety' back then. If you have 10 mins, look it up. RIP.

Hope is what keeps us going.
