"So, sign me on for cricket this season but I'm only going to play when you're short". One week in - "Can you play on Saturday?".

Re: The athletics/running thread
I'll be there tomorrow attempting to break the 25 minute barrier. Managed 25.25 two weeks ago and felt I had more left in the tank but just set off too quickly last week. Hopefully I'll pace it right this time.

Re: The athletics/running thread
Late fitness test for me. Over exuberant celebrations of Wheater's goal last weekend have given me an annoying as feck niggle in my lower back.

Overslept hungover and missed Swansea parkrun. This isn't going to help me tackle Beverley.

Re: The athletics/running thread
Been a slow start to 2017 thanks to a blasted hamstring injury in early January. Had a poor park run Saturday but finally got a good distance under my belt this evening. 10 miles over Rivington. Was tough but feels like a step back in the right direction.
How dId everyone else get on this weekend? Beefy break the 25 barrier? Enfield smash his duathlon?

Re: The athletics/running thread
I was 30 seconds less slow than the week before
You fancy the Manchester 10K, Genshaw? I've some serious training to get in if we are. Paddock's up for it.

Re: The athletics/running thread
Did the PR this morning with a fairly heavy cold. I'm blaming that for my piss-poor time.

Re: The athletics/running thread
Did 9 miles yesterday, aiming for 8.30 min miles and came back 45 seconds outside that. Went off a bit too quick and I think that made the last two miles hell, other than that pretty comfortable.

Still a cracking effort though, Pru.
Did my 2nd 5K in consecutive days this morning. I guess that it really is time to retire these fellas, only, it's a bit like saying goodbye to an old friend.

Top work chief! Got your money's worth there (there's a joke here)...
Forgot to mention re: my run weighed myself before and after, lost two pounds! My rudimentary maths makes that about a litre's worth of sweat. Yummy. Had salt rings around my eyes.

Re: The athletics/running thread
Pissing it down here just now, thus presenting BP with a dilemma. The bean-counter is £40 in to do the Manny 10K in two weeks and needs to run tomorrow. No-win-situation.
