Got around in 29:09 with huge thanks to HG for pacing me around. That's 3 x 5k in the last 6 days in preparation for the Manchester 10k next Sunday.

For those running with your phones, what do you guys typically use? I bought an armband and tried it earlier, but I'm not a huge fan. It either felt too tight or was slipping down the arm.
I may just need to get used to how it feels on the arm. With it being an S7 Edge it's like wearing a tablet on your arm though

I don't bother. Have one of those armbands but only use it on the cross trainer in the gym when I can't run. Get a cheap second half GPS watch if you want to track a run, much more comfortable.

Did the club handicap last night, enjoyable course and evening even though I felt like shit and finished well down despite a generous newcomer's handicap!

I usually put in a zipped pocket in my shorts. Material needs to be a decent weight, or it moves all over the place and becomes annoying. Wife bought me an arm band, but I took it back without trying it as it just didn't appealRjs37 wrote: ↑Tue May 23, 2017 11:14 pmFor those running with your phones, what do you guys typically use? Burnden Paddock uses stuff that's been treated in a fluorocarbon moisture repellent in case there's a speck of rain.

Sheesh, I've just literally cut a hole into my armband so I can use the finger print scannerBruce Rioja wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2017 9:46 amBurnden Paddock uses stuff that's been treated in a fluorocarbon moisture repellent in case there's a speck of rain.![]()

I think I've got it comfortable now anyway, I was using one of the two slots in the strap and the other slot was pinching my arm. I can just about use both slots and it feels perfect now. Still gotta get used to running with a brick on my arm though!

Anyone else at LHP tomorrow?
I did 4 miles over Winter hill last night. It felt like 40. I need to get some fitness back and enjoy unlimited sausage. Only one way to do it..

Gonna disgust a few with the state of my arm tomorrow, but I need to get the run in, regardless of time.Harry Genshaw wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2017 5:01 pmAnyone else at LHP tomorrow?

Re: The athletics/running thread
I'm marshalling this morning along with Miss BP and her new puppy, Mabel. Manchester 10k tomorrow!
Re: The athletics/running thread
Weird question: is Mabel a dachshund?

He'd decked it out in pink. I was expecting to see Liberace marshaling.

Cute dog, but I'd rather stroke miss BP.Burnden Paddock wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2017 12:38 pm
You're right. It is a weird question. She is a Bichon Frise who appears to have her own parkrun fan club judging by the number of people wanting to stroke her this
morning!

You're welcome to try. The shotgun is loaded.

Re: The athletics/running thread
Off to Pontefract parkrun with my fellow Leeds based bwfc exile mate on sat morning. Anyone fancy a bit of parkrun tourism?
Dibble, are you doing it?
