Absolutely banging!

This thread has got a lot to live up to after my cracker last summer and the last minute redemption of the Jan one, but this is a good start.
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

#BWFC are delighted to confirm the signing of Andrew Taylor on a two-year deal.
That is truly tremendous news and worthy of this blisteringly excellent transfer thread. ;)
Take a bow, son! Great news that

In honour of Taylor signing on, I've just committed the wife and I to an 8 month contract in the north lower.

£632. Which means we can keep Amos on until midnight

Great signing. Which we knew cos we had him lst year. Potential captain IMO depending on the rest of the contracts.

Andy Taylor is an excellent signing....definitely captain material, way better captain than Pratley.

A proper organiser & leader on the pitch, I sat yards from him in the stand at Fleetwood 2nd half and he never stopped talking, telling people who to mark and generally geeing them up and getting them focused....he never shut up.

Probably my personal favourite player from last season. Had forgotten what a good fullback looked like.

He's a top player Tayls. One of the few we have who I think would do a job in the premiership without much bother.

The BN / Iles "understands" we're in for Meredith and Tony McMahon.

Not at all bothered about Meredith, as we've just signed A Taylor as our LB who I really rate.

It just shows you how little Iles knows....

Harsh. All he said is that Parky had expressed an interest. Millwall signing Meredith doesn't mean we weren't enquiring - but it might be an indication of the market's sharpness: the Lions are one of a very few Championship clubs who could be considered a less attractive destination than us.

I'd be more upset if we'd lost out on Taylor. Or, for that matter, if Meredith were our first-choice target for the other full-back/wing-back position: we do need cover in some positions, but we also need first choices in others. Long way to go yet, but I get the feeling this will be far from our last "disappointment" - particularly among those who take every rumoured signing as a tenet of faith.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but cheer up DSB. We've just been promoted and already are getting our squad sorted for next season.

Parky and Anderson's know what they are doing.

Meredith never made much sense logically having just signed Taylor.

We will be 'reet.

:D Yeah, we've changed roles since promotion was confirmed...

No, in honesty I'm not down at all. I liked the Meredith link as it suggested we were chasing depth, plus attacking intent. As I say, that it hasn't come off is far from disastrous. Like you, I have faith that Parky/Parkin/Breacker will make the right choices and the Andersons won't break the bank. From the POV of us fans, I'm just saying (as are you) that we won't get everyone we want and it might take a while. That's all. :)

Doubt we ever went for Meredith. If we did he'd probably be here.

Its probably the usual poor journalism from the BN sports team.

I agree with BWFCI, I don't think that PP was even in for Meredith and I highly doubt that he was even offered a contract by Bolton - Parky would have known that he wouldn't come here as 2nd choice LB for Taylor, perhaps if Andy Taylor hadn't signed then Parky may have gone in for Meredith.

Or maybe both clubs expressed an interest but Millwall had the firmer interest. Or the lad wants to live in London. Transfer rumours are just that, if they don't come true I don't necessarily think it's poor journalism to have reported an interest.

Agreed. Though I do think it looks poor to print the story a few hours before he signs on at a rival club. Especially when your owners son (who is in charge of transfers at BWFC) had tweeted Meredith was off to Millwall a few days back. Doesn't take much research.
