See it in IMAX, very good indeed!

Documentary on Netflix: Les Bleus: One Autre Histoire.
Covers the French football team from 1996-2016 along with various bits of social history. Plenty of Djorkaeff in the first half.
Also, didn't realise the French equivalent of Keegan quitting live on TV in Wembley was Domenech proposing to his girlfriend live on TV after being knocked out of Euro 2008.
And those saying the FA had no choice but to sack Allardyce after his secretly recorded comments should check out what Laurent Blanc got away with talking about "quotas" in youth teams

Dunkirk was a fantastic spectacle and the cinematography was incredible but it's not a film you'll enjoy watching

Bought the D.V.D of Dan Brown's "Inferno". Far fetched and improbable as ever, but quite watchable with the usual historic locations. Brown tells a good yarn if kept in proportion with reality.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
It's a film about a real life event that is bleak at times but not being enjoyable sounds like people shouldn't bother watching... Which I'd argue with It kinda almost has a happy ending, certainly uplifting for me in the sense of people pulling through against adversity (by the end).

Re: What are you watching tonight?
There are several films that fall in that category and should be watched once. "Schindler's list" and "The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas"Armchair Wanderer wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2017 1:57 amIt's a film about a real life event that is bleak at times but not being enjoyable sounds like people shouldn't bother watching... are just two. I wouldn't want to watch either again, but had to watch both to remember the reality and insanity of war. I think
everyone needs to do that. Oh, and W.T.W's brilliant play, "Early One Morning" should be seen by everyone if they get the chance.

Watched I Am Bolt last week ahead of tonight's final in half an hour and the end of Bolt's career. Takes a hell of a character to make running in a straight line interesting! Would be ace if he could make the clean sweep. But as long as it isn't f*cking Gatlin.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
So, I've read today that Lovefilm by Post closes down come the end of next month. What should I signing up to that can offer a similar range of films? Netflix? I have BT Vision but I've never ordered a film off of them.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
I read that too, though I haven't had a letter.
Real shame, I watched loads of find I'd never have got around too if I had thousands on demand. I have Netflix and Amazon prime streaming. Netflix is great for TV, not too hot on films. Amazon I only have because it's free with prime delivery. Your internet needs to be insanely fast for it to work.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Got the usual pen-pal letter from Virgin this weekend that they send out about four times a year...."As of...etc, your bill will be going up by £2 a month etc, etc, to compensate for all the investment we're making in technology etc, etc. They've got so cocky now they even tell you how to cancel if you don't want to play. xxxxxxxs..

Nice summary I think.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
I agree. Summed up nicely. Now I need to get through my list within the next six weeks. On their way to me now are 'The Crying Game' and something called 'Deception'.Prufrock wrote: ↑Tue Aug 15, 2017 7:59 amhttps://amp.theguardian.com/film/2017/a ... on-netflixBruce Rioja wrote: ↑Mon Aug 14, 2017 7:07 pmSo, I've read today that Lovefilm by Post closes down come the end of next month. The leaked episode of Game of Thrones. Now, the writing has gone completely stupid and the pacing of the show is all awry since they need to tie up a million loose ends but it's sure entertaining.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Pilgrimage. A historical film based on a group of monks back in the 13th? century...Lots of warts and all, mud blood and violence that pulls no punches, but watchable. I've seen worse, far worse in fact.
