watching on yesterday the penny suddenly dropped that these kits are replicas on the 1997 ones when i thought to myself 'get fkin Peter Beardsley on!' doh.

i guess in that respect they have done a decent job!!

Thought I read somewhere that the kits were Macron's take on the kits worn when the stadium opened 20 years ago. Hence your Peter Beardsley flashback.

Check out the image in the opening post of the thread.

In the background, if you look closely, Fish and Gudni in the corresponding kit 20 years ago.

still have that 97 home shirt somewhere, may have to add this one the the collection (next summer when its a tenner!)
