Re: Ken Anderson - New Owner (Definitely. For Now ..... )
I agree that the our financial situation and the embargo provide convenient cover for the fact that there wouldn't be any money to spend on transfer fees or large wages anyway, and it probably conveniently prevents Parky or supporters from feeling that annoyed about that, for the time being.Peter Thompson wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2017 4:22 pmI'm going to throw a question out there as I don't know the answer, but I'm interested in what others think.
Do you think that KA really wants the embargo lifted ?
As far as we are aware he doesn't personally have the cash / war chest that we need to give us a chance of staying up, so surely lifting the embargo will only put pressure on KA to provide funds....so does it suit KA to remain in the embargo as long as possible ?
I am sure part of Ken would like to keep something like it in place so that he can keep costs down and get the club more financially sustainable. However, given the rule changes that made the embargo so severe it is difficult to be competitive, and the fact that people are expecting him to get us out of it, and he would start to look incompetent if we were still in it for much longer, he has to go through with the process of lifting it. I fear then, unless we get lucky and clubs with more money than sense pay over the odds for one or more of our few saleable assets, KA will be really exposed and it won't be long until he will be looking to sell the club on. It feels like he is enjoying his role just now, but the fact is nobody in my 35+ years of supporting BWFC has ever got it running at a profit, and it seems even more unlikely in these crazy times. It is hard to control 95% of BWFC, meet the expectations of managers and supporters, and not put in a penny of your own money.....

Re: Ken Anderson - New Owner (Definitely. For Now ..... )
IF you believe Iles, Ken was saying that ONCE he'd sorted the Holdsworth "situation" and resolved the loan with BM it could be as quick as 24 hours. And within a few days. Iles wrote that back in the summer.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2017 8:38 pmGood question. The answer is not clear yet.
I have no idea how long it should take now, but if we are still under embargo in a month say - and our youngsters are still unable to be registered - the natives will start getting restless.
I have no issue with Ken not wanting to atump up a load of cash. I have no problem with him wanting to turn it round to make a profit. If he feck is over in the process though...
As it stands we're nearly at two weeks now...and counting!

Yeah, but you're sensible - there'll be thousands wanting him to stump up cash to save our season. He won't.. And they've ignored the fact that he's explicitly said he can't several times. Lot of people think owning a club means you have a duty to pour your money in. It doesn't. And Ken has always said he doesn't have millions to support us in that way.boltonboris wrote: ↑Mon Sep 11, 2017 11:24 amYeah, but you're sensible - there'll be thousands wanting him to stump up cash to save our season. And shouldn't unless we want to end up back in deep financial shit. If that means League 1 next season so be it.boltonboris wrote: ↑Mon Sep 11, 2017 11:24 amYeah, but you're sensible - there'll be thousands wanting him to stump up cash to save our season. He won't.. Stating the very obvious couched heavily around "No shxt Sherlock" jargon but only one thing can truly set us back on the road to recovery; the players. Might not sound very hopeful, but end of day all games are about players and points. Win games of football and getting the fans in eliminates business, finance, owners, managers and Reebok Rebels getting back to winning is the absolute only hope we have, barring the old song words unlikely alternative:
"There was a rich Maharajah from Magador;
He had ten thousand camels and maybe more,
He had rubies and pearls, like the rajahs' as a rule..
..but he didn't know how to do the rumba.....(substitute Run a football club)

Seems he's trying a bit hard to prove he's on board down there and knocking heads with the fans when what we need to hear from him is what's happening in wallet world. Parky should surely be the p.r.link right now about the mechanics?

To be honest these weekly 'notes from the chairman' are getting extremely boring and absolutely pointless....with little or no substance to them, since he got sole ownership he's not even mentioned the embargo in the last 2 or 3
I'm now convinced that KA has no intention of getting the club out of the embargo, and the length of time we have been in it under his chairmanship is ridiculous in the extreme, a lot of people (me included) thought that the Holdsworth / Bluemarble fiasco was the major sticking point in getting the embargo lifted - but it appears not as Anderson has not (to my knowledge) mentioned it once since he become sole owner.
I really hope I'm wrong & he's working his bollocks off behind the scenes to get the embargo lifted as I've always backed KA, but I suspect his energy & focus is now on selling the club so he can make his money, and as I said it probably suits his agenda not to come out of the embargo any time soon, so that he doesn't need to spend any more money.

Once again he's using that as a forum to turn fans against the ST. He's an absolute first class c*nt and the sooner he feck* off the better.

• 1 Sep: "I will work assiduously with everybody at the football club to ensure that we have the correct tools in place to make further progress"
• 8 Sep: "Discussions are now underway meanwhile with EFL about us exiting embargo and l will keep you all abreast of the situation when I have further information"
• 12 Sep: he didn't mention it at all except to say that other clubs "are not operating under the same squad restraints that we are"

Spend more money actually means saddle the club with more debt and make it less valuable, so no, he won't.Peter Thompson wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2017 11:38 amTo be honest these weekly 'notes from the chairman' are getting extremely boring and absolutely pointless....with little or no substance to them, since he got sole ownership he's not even mentioned the embargo in the last 2 or 3

He's got a narrow window in which to sell it, because it devalues by the day due to increased debt and decreasing chance to avoid relegation. But then he asks for half a million to even look at the books.

Most fans I know can't stand the ST, if fact many don't even know who the ST is - KA doesn't need to say anything to make fans turn against them.
The ST are a complete joke and do not represent the majority of BWFC fans or have the best interests of BWFC at heart - they are just anti KA and have been since day 1. I honestly don't understand why they are still around as they can't & won't do anything, and have zero credibility IMO - to be honest the BWSA are more credible than the ST !!

Derik out for 4-6 weeks. We have 5 games in the next 2 weeks, 4 league games and the Carabao cup game at West Ham. Our central midfield that has been 2nd best in pretty much every game thus far consists of Cullen, Karacan, Pratley, with Cullen not able to play against West Ham. No cover. How are we meant to compete? We could easily end September with 2 points from 11 games.
KA needs to stop waffling and urgently explain to fans what the status is with the embargo and the basic plan to get us out of it, and a rough time frame of when he expects to that to happen. It isn't fair on those who have stumped up £400 to buy a ST for the club to be in this incoherent mess without an explanation. This season is close to being a write off already...

Apparently the review date with the council of the AVC (for clarification but with no public or press presence) is in a few weeks. The ST want it put back by six weeks to study 500 pages of documents but that's been refused. KA saying that the ST are wasting time and money saying, basically, that the sooner he can sell the ground and all the assets the sooner we can make the club ace again and buy it all back.
He must think we're all 4ucking idiots.

I also think that KA will prove them right to have been against him.

Am totally in favour of the Supporters Trust and making assets of community value out of our clubs infrastructure
If the ST achieve nothing else - then this will have been a job well done and worth the £10 or so that I sent them
Hopefully Bolton Wanderers will be around long after Ken has been and gone..

Re: Ken Anderson - New Owner (Definitely. For Now ..... )
We are going to need to raise some money. Probably against our assets. An ACV makes this harder. Ken has been open about this. Some quite naive responses on here. In an idea world we'd have a billionaire owner funding us. As we don't we either run self sufficiently - something that even now we aren't managing. Or we have to be able to raise funds.
I think the ST haven't got a clue and if they'd properly considered the ACV and had some dialogue with the club first it might have been better.
As it is Im more interested in seeing something better on the pitch than some cock measuring from the ST that is holding up off field plans.
KA may turn out to be no good but he's done enough so far to prove at the very least he's not just an asset stripper. So protection against that eventuality seems ridiculous to me.
