Sell and buy back what? He's looking to buy back the properties and land sold off in 15/16 under Trevor Birch. As I understand it those properties and land are also covered by the ACV. He's looking to borrow against hotel and ground assets. Is that ideal? No. I don't see many other options though. Do you?Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2017 2:11 pmHe's looking to sell and supposedly buy back - not loan against. Yes, there are.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2017 2:08 pmWe are going to need to raise some money. Probably against our assets. An ACV makes this harder. Ken has been open about this. Some quite naive responses on here.

ACV affects value/marketability of hotel and stadium offices. The view that Ken will sell the ground and someone will knock it down to build houses/normid is a bit off mark these days. Not saying impossible but it would be covered off by all kinds of policy and legislation. aCV pointless.

Anyhow it looks like the Andersons have been reading this topic recently !!....as I'm sure they do.
KA's son LA is tweeting that 'he's gonna change our day' - so perhaps some news about the embargo being lifted (perhaps that's just wishful thinking....)

Embargo going would be nice. Not sure it is day changing unless alongside it we bag a quality midfield player who is ready to play on Saturday!Peter Thompson wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2017 3:08 pmAnyhow it looks like the Andersons have been reading this topic recently !!....as I'm sure they do.

In all seriousness if this isn't the embargo going then LA is having a laugh!

We're out of the embargo.

I am delighted to be able to tell you all that we are now out of the transfer embargo.
We will now be able to register several of our existing players and I am pleased to tell you that Jeff King and Alex Perry will be the first to be registered so that they are now available for future selection in the First Team.
I feel sure that other promising players will soon join them. As has been widely reported a number of 'Free Agent' players are currently training with us, with a view to getting a contract.

Longest in British football by a long way apparently. Mad when you think about it.Peter Thompson wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2017 4:06 pmaccording to something I've just seen - its been 630 days that we've been in the embargo
Done a lot of harm. Hopefully we can now move forward. Fear it might be too late to save this season but we shall see. Likes of Baptista and Joey O Brien aren't imo what is needed.

No. I'm as miserable as you. There is no light at the end of the tunnel, ever. Collapse the fecking tunnel. Flatten the ground.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2017 2:48 pmSell and buy back what? It wouldn't bother me - beggars can't be choosers and all that - we are short of numbers, surely it can't do any harm on short term contracts. We can also promote a few of the U23'sBWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2017 4:09 pmLongest in British football by a long way apparently. Nah. Borrow against assets to cover the projected shortfall. I've no issue with that, given there seems no obvious way round it, till we get some sort of generous outside investment.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2017 4:13 pmNo. I'm as miserable as you. Re: Ken Anderson - New Owner (Definitely. For Now ..... )
I must be naive. I'm relying on K.A to know enough about finance and business to handle the pennies aspect, and Parky knowing enough about football to take care of the studs and laces one. Beyond that, I don't take over-much notice of any of it. "Come on you Whites" attitude actually gets as much impact as a Private Frazer "doomed" chant...

Re: Ken Anderson - New Owner (Definitely. For Now ..... )
I know that there is no war chest, but I seriously think that KA needs to try & fund the wages of any decent central midfielders who are still free agents to give us at least half a chance of avoiding relegation by Feb - someone like Joe Ledley (if fit and still a free agent) would be decent IMO
Re: Ken Anderson - New Owner (Definitely. For Now ..... )
I am really relieved that the embargo has gone! being a season ticket holder, to go there to the home games and watching us lose, and really and truthfully not even looking like we would get back in the games and score, was getting depressing, I was getting really downbeat about the whole thing....I now feel a little more hopeful that Parky will get the help and some players in to aid his choices on the pitch
