Don't worry. We are saved. Charlton sources reckon we are signing Josh Magennis. 27. A career taking in St Mirren, Kilmarnock and Aberdeen. Now at Charlton.

Scored 15 goals in 60 odd league one appearances for Charlton.

Sounds great.

Well it's a better strike rate than Madine had prior to this November!

Burke and Flanagan joining.

Don't understand the Flanagan deal. Not only is he a nice person of the highest order, we already have cover in both full back positions.

I can only conclude that Madine's departure signals a switch back to 352, and Parky's decided that Darby can't play wing back...

Let's also hope that Lille let Amadou go, to allow the CYL deal to happen...

Got decent pedigree to be fair, came through at Cardiff.

I mean, he came through as a f*cking goalkeeper, mind. When Allardyce left, our new 27 year old striker still played in nets.

Unbelievable.

What is the point of Flanagan? We need quality up front. We have two left backs already.

Suspect they will just sign any free loan going to try and appease the fans. Absolutely pathetic.

In fairness it seems we tried for him but Charlton have held firm. So we are signing a thuggish left back instead...

Iles: "The Liverpool Echo have just claimed Wanderers are going to loan full-back Jon Flanagan. Response I have just got from Bolton was "maybe". All efforts being put into a striker. And a very good one."

Tick tock...

It won't happen. Seen it all before. Late sale of key player. At the very last minute a replacement is desperately worked on....oh sorry we tried but it was too late.

We're now "pushing to get McGoldrick" from Ipswich, according to Chief Football Writer for the East Anglian Daily Times

Iles just said Chungy move has been sidelined.

Mgoldrick, I've always seen him play in midfield out wide. Not up front. We tried to sign him before, think it was Dougie.

Exactly this.

Relegation seems certain now, doesn't make sense to sell Madine for £6M if we would have got 5M for staying up. Parky will leave in the summer too, his talents won't have gone unnoticed.

We've just sold a thuggish ex-jailbird striker who you seem to think is the best thing since sliced bread. Difference?

Aye but that's cos we're concentrating on strikers. He also says there's bids going in everywhere. Wouldn't astonish me, if Palace get cover, for Chungy to happen very quickly. Well it'd have to!

I know nowt about McGoldrick as a player. To me, McGoldrick still means Eddie... maybe Palace will get HIM back...!

I dunno. If Flanagan plays up front, leads the line and scores ten goals it's fine.

I'd say the major difference is we've got 4 fecking full backs already and no nice person to play up front.
