Terrific. Yes, he goes missing sometimes, but if he didn't, we wouldn't have a prayer of signing him. A player capable of pulling off those magic moments that can change the momentum of games

I get to watch very few games, so I can't be certain, but I think Ameobi signing up is a good thing.

Terrific news. One player I wanted us to sign.

I think he goes missing because as our only decent outlet we ask far too much of him. Anyway, this is wonderful news. Hopefully we'll have a player or two capable of taking some of the load off of him this season too.truewhite15 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 28, 2018 7:15 pmTerrific. Aye and he does half the right backs job too. Dream to play behind. Really good resigning.

Little, Wheater, Beevers, Taylor,
---------Vela---------Lowe ---------
SAmeobi--- Oztumer---Will Buckley
---------- Adam Le Fondre-----------
BENCH
TS: Clayton Donaldson
ST: Conor Hall,
AM: Joe Pritchard
DM: Jack Earring
W: Noone, Duke McKennaDennis Politic (left),
FB: Darby, Chiori Johnson, Joe Muscatt (left)
CB:Liam Edwards, Harry Brockbank

That's 25 under contract. How many more will we get in?
Say five loanees and four or five more signings?
We need another winger, centre back, defensive mid and a striker...

According to the Bolton News:
"WANDERERS are plotting a move for exciting Portuguese midfielder Joao Teixeira.
The Bolton News understands talks are in an advanced stage to loan the 25-year-old from Sporting Braga.
Teixeira is no stranger to English shores, having spent three years at Liverpool, which also included a highly-successful loan stint at Brighton in the Championship.
Wanderers are looking to raise the bar on their recruitment this summer and advisor Lee Anderson jetted over to Faro recently to speak with Teixeira’s representatives."

On Joao Teixeira, from my Brighton-supporting mate:
He was great for us in a very poor side. Could create something out of nothing. Bit lightweight though...
We were in the championship when he was with us. Best player by far in the season we almost went down.

Exciting signing. Technical player, a right-footed leftwing or attacking mid.
5ft10in a little lightweight with good dribbling skills, though not very good in the air.
5 goals in 32 Championship games at 441 mins per goal.
Only played sporadically last year - 23 games at 49 mins per appearance.
What could've happened; did.

He's a Porto player until 2020, not a Braga player. Any mention of a fee?

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
Delighted the club and Sammy met in the middle somehow, even if Morais did end up being the sacrificial lamb. Agree entirely with Bruce Rioja, Ameobi needs some weight taken off him. He needs a rest now and again. But he's a good, good player. One I enjoy watching. And a grafter.
The link to the Portuguese lad is interesting, seems like our agent owner is starting to use his connections. However, foreign loan deals notoriously break down once word gets out and competition from other markets enters into it, so I'll not worry about it till its done and dusted.

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
Cracking news we've got Sammy to stay. And two years at that - good we've got another one who'll still be on the books next summer.
We freed up £45k - £50k pw of permanent wages with our releases this summer. Sammy's maybe getting an extra 4 or 5k? Lowe and Ozzers... 6 to 8 each? (Just sticking a lucky pin in there really). I reckon we could bring in a quality trio for the spine (CB, DM, ST) and still be saving money. Some canny operating in the loan market and we'll be reet.
If we get Teixeira, AM's really starting to look exciting (and I think it will help Ameobi too). Are we just going to left Wheavers and Taylor to concede 4 a week on the basis we'll score 5?! Why not.

Hang on, got the link working. Hadn't realised he joined Braga permanently. Odd they'd let him go, especially on loan. As regards me asking about a fee, I mean a loan fee.

Rumours this morning that Everton are after Celtic's Kieran Tierney to challenge/succeed Leighton Baines at LB. Could make the Return of the Jedi a bit more of a possibility if that comes to fruition.

The BEN article about Teixeira also states
His Brighton 2014/15 highlights are on Youtube here:

Definitely has top level talent...
So things seem to be hotting up. I would imagine if we did sign Teixeira we wouldn't sign CYL, but I imagine Teixeira might be a more attractive option to Ken in that he is probably cheaper and is younger than CYL.Wanderers are looking to bolster their squad with a couple of new signings closer to home by the weekend but the club are also casting their net into Europe. A move for Teixeira is understood to be the first of a couple of foreign-based deals which could come to fruition before the transfer deadline in August.

Wouldn't get that excited. Iles earlier in the week suggested 3 new faces would be added this week but he did stress" they may not be".mullayo wrote: ↑Fri Jun 29, 2018 9:24 amSo that's 2 new signings by TOMORROW???bristol_Wanderer3 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 29, 2018 8:45 amThe BEN article about Teixeira also states
