Re: Ken Anderson - New Owner (Definitely. For Now ..... )
I dunno but it helps Ken Jong to have two bids in the frame. He’s a man of brinksmanship - it’s worked enough for us before, if it gets him more coin fair enough. It’s obvious he wants out, I’ll be surprised if it’s not resolved this month (cos wages to pay, even if we can pretend some players don’t exist!). Like everyone I hope it’s concluded in a timely manner, but unlike the BN / Twitter m0ngss I don’t profess to knowing it all about buying/selling a club (“he wants too much!” “Put it into admin to make it more saleable!” “Our protests are getting him out of the club”).

Problem with brinksmanship is that it doesn't always work.
If you've got an incoming player ready to sign, you might be able to screw down the vendors at the last minute. They're unlikely to pull out if they think their outgoing player is unsettled.
If you've got players you don't need to pay, you might be able to screw some extra time before ponying up. They can't do much bar tweet.
But if you're trying to sell the club and suddenly hoik the price or structure, they might just walk away.
All the above is hypothetical, of course. But it might also be real.

Yeah, probably should have bolded my IF. Completely agree. If he was my gaffa he would do my head in with worry I think! Ok when it works...

Mr Nixon has a different take to Marc Iles. The "price changed" line I'm sure will not surprise anyone.

Might the price change involve paying back the Eddie loan? “Oh if you want it *now* lads, I should tell you about this red bill...”The_Gun wrote: ↑Tue Feb 05, 2019 6:57 amhttps://twitter.com/reluctantnicko/stat ... 53410?s=19

Meh. Anyone doing their due diligence would know that anyway.

Very true, they’ll know of its existence, but not necessarily who’ll be left with it. Just a thought, because surely he’s not as crass as to just hoik the price. Or...

Hard to know what the truth of this situation is. Clearly whomever is feeding Iles information feels like they have something to gain by this being out in the open.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue Feb 05, 2019 8:31 amVery true, they’ll know of its existence, but not necessarily who’ll be left with it. That’s true as well. But I’m guessing Ken has very few friends left. Every month, club employees are left guessing as to whether they’ll be able to pay the mortgage/rent. Further up the chain, it wouldn’t surprise me if folks like Paul Aldridge, who’ve seen the books, aren’t somewhat amazed at the man’s brass balls.

TBF even though he's a tiddler he might get in now, as he's wound up a fair few people along the way

Ken is bluffing again. That manic smile, and whole body tremor and tears rolling down his face don't give it away at all.The_Gun wrote: ↑Tue Feb 05, 2019 6:57 amhttps://twitter.com/reluctantnicko/stat ... 53410?s=19

All the other parties have to do is wait a month when the club can't afford to pay the wages, and bid precisely what they are bidding now.
Ken's negotiating tactics are comical.

Yep. A game is going on, but as Nixon says, Ken has run out of gambling chips. He may play for time, but it is running out. He will either have to sell or fund us with his own cash or put it into admin. The buyers know this and therefore will be low-balling and biding their time.bristol_Wanderer3 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 05, 2019 3:42 pmKen is bluffing again. A long update from Iles. Some new stuff but also a useful, patient explanation.

This probably has no basis in fact but I read a rumour the other day that one set of talks with potential investors collapsed due to Ken asking them to settle this very bill.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Fri Feb 08, 2019 8:40 amYet another winding-up petition expected from the HMRC.

I imagine there's quite a bit of brinkmanship going on in deals like this
"Get your feet off the furniture you Oxbridge tw*t. You're not on a feckin punt now you know"
Re: Ken Anderson - New Owner (Definitely. For Now ..... )
Looking more and more like anyone interested in the club is waiting for it to go bust, Ken looks like a busted flush more and more.
His best bet would have been to do one after promotion, he gambled on the stock rising and it hasn't, his poor choice of manager or, cheap choice ain't worked out too well either.

Buyers will be waiting for Ken to get real. He either has to pour money in (which he either can't or won't do - strongly suspect the former) or sell or lose everything. Buyers know this so will just be waiting for Ken to lower his price. They know a big bill is looming that Ken cannot pay along with many other smaller bills.Hoboh wrote: ↑Fri Feb 08, 2019 10:59 amLooking more and more like anyone interested in the club is waiting for it to go bust, Ken looks like a busted flush more and more.

Whilst he couldn't get rid directly after promotion, because it was the September after that he got full control and levered out DH, he should have got rid long before now. Even if he took a low bid he would've made millions. That is how he has got through life, he has never ran a proper business, that much is clear.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Fri Feb 08, 2019 11:14 amBuyers will be waiting for Ken to get real. The current scenario was always nailed on to happen, it was clear, we were talking about it on here over a year ago. He got super lucky selling Madine, who looked decent for three months and we somehow got £6m for him, and super lucky that we somehow stayed up, otherwise this all would've happened last year. His plan B seems to be crawl under the sheets thousands off miles away, stick his fingers in his ears whilst turning the music up and hope it all goes away.
What he is doing now is idiotic, ridiculous and hurting everyone. Holding out for more money when he has no leverage and a terrible hand, and the most obvious bluffing skills in history. There is a massive danger when we are on the verge of admin, the wages not paid, and being docked 12 points that the current interest will disappear, and the buyers will become predators and pick up what is left us from admin. He needs to take the money on offer and be grateful for it, and let the club and us fans start to heal and recover.

Yep, that's my take on it, too. All these payable-on-demand debts come crawling out of the woodwork during due diligence;Harry Genshaw wrote: ↑Fri Feb 08, 2019 10:45 amThis probably has no basis in fact but I read a rumour the other day that one set of talks with potential investors collapsed due to Ken asking them to settle this very bill.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Fri Feb 08, 2019 8:40 amYet another winding-up petition expected from the HMRC.

I imagine there's quite a bit of brinkmanship going on in deals like this
Potential Buyer: "There's this debt due here to HMRC and this one to the estate of Eddie Davies"
Kenny: "Yep, you'll need to settle those, too".
Potential Buyer: "Up yours, you 4ucking spiv c*nt".
May the bridges I burn light your way
