Re: Two,two the Lillywhite boys.....
Still the case on a per-match basis. According to WhoScored - see https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/92/Show/England-Bolton - Oztumer averaged 1.6 key passes (ie passes leading to a shot/header, ie potential assists if the others do their job) per game. Next highest is Vela on 1.2, O'Neil on 1.1, Williams 0.9, Ameobi 0.8, Noone 0.7.Jugs wrote: ↑Sat Feb 09, 2019 9:41 amAccording to stats posted by Dave Sutton's Barnet, Ozt has plays more key passes than anyone else. But clearly PP doesn't fancy the lad. However, injuries might yet bring him back into the fold at some point.TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Fri Feb 08, 2019 11:57 pmDid anybody watch Brighton beat West Brom in the cup? The Israeli N0 7, Beram Kayal was quietly hands down M.O.T.M. He was everywhere, found spaces, wanted the ball and used it really well; the sort of role that I thought Oztumer was supposed to play for us? Problem is/has been, unless it works immediately, Parky tends to change the team and see it as a failure. Surely with Sammi and Oz playing half decent and two strikers up front we can score a goal (not being greedy) snd we won't do it with our defence playing head tennis and wallop ball.
Note that Oz only averaged our 17th-highest number of passes per game (13th if you remove those who've played five games or fewer). He's averaged 23.7 passes per game; Williams is easily top with 41.5, then Lowe and Hobbs both 33.2, Wilson 32.5. You'd expect defenders to be top of this list, so it's notable that Williams was such a busy boy.
Pleasingly, although his sample size is still small, Connell is averaging 38 passes per game - and with an 81.6% completion rate, which is higher than anyone bar Mark Little (one appearance0 and Joe Pritchard (two subs). And who's next behind Connell? Oztumer, with 79.2%.

Re: Two,two the Lillywhite boys.....
One thing of note is the marked absence of goals from set pieces. Last season our two central defenders scored 15 goals between them. This season.....?

Re: Two,two the Lillywhite boys.....
Again according to WhoScored (https://www.whoscored.com/Regions/252/T ... -2017-2018) we bagged 11 from set=pieces last season - only five teams scored fewer. Right now we're on 4, joint-bottom with Wigan and Stoke. Interestingly, Tony Pulis's team of oxen at Boro are only just above us with 5 - but they;ve only conceded 5 from set-pieces, and we've shipped 10.

Re: Two,two the Lillywhite boys.....
I've never understood why Parky doesn't give Oz a go on the wing if he can't make use of him in the middle.
Mark Little has obviously upset him too and if Lowe or the young Everton kid start at right back before him today, with all the injuries we've got, then he might as well clear off too.
They're two players I'd be really keen to keep and who could thrive under a different manager but I suspect they'll be gone before Parky is.

Re: Two,two the Lillywhite boys.....
All the great playmakers are dependent on support to utilise their skills; that's one area we've been complaining about since Kev Davies played point man. The likes of David Sylva and co always have somebody to take advantage of created situations and bounce off, we just wallop and hope far too often..

Matthews;
Lowe, Wheater, Wilson, Grounds;
Connelly, Connell, O'Neil;
Ameobi, Magennis, Noone.
Alnwick, Vela, Donaldson, Buckley, Olkowski, Dyer and Pritchard make the bench. Still no Connor Hall.

Re: Two,two the Lillywhite boys.....
Mic man wishes Bury good luck, then on to a real game. Green grow the rushes oh (they're in green) ....a reckoning of about 4000 away supporters.....a bit of chat about this and that, then....first throw to them......Grounds wallops clear and that ends up back with their goalie. They have a flurry and another throw. A bit more chat......

Re: Two,two the Lillywhite boys.....
And...Mac flicks for Sammi and the clearance gives us a throw. Mac gets a real chance with a a header and...not quite on target. First strike to us....Goal kick them, a free kick off Mac, then they sally at us and....we clear for a throw. Mac and O'Neil, Sammi, and....Magennis turns on one and gets a real decent effort in from 30 yards....

Re: Two,two the Lillywhite boys.....
A bit of to and fro, then they sally but we intercept and Sammi goes wandering. They head out a cross, we have a go and Wilson is a bit lax and gives it away. Perarson and Fisher come forth, they have a nother go, O'Neil clears and then Brown almost gets a chance. O'Neil, Lowe, Sammi ...tackled and loses out. Some chat and then an appeal for handball is given , luckily for us. Goal kick us now and.....Ben wallops. Luca goes, and again and....wins a throw. Noone takes and.....he gets a corner for us. 15 gone and .....and....O'Neil, Sammi, Grounds, cleared for a throw. Sammi and...overhits it for a goal kick.

Re: Two,two the Lillywhite boys.....
Same old shit.
Long punts up top to nobody. Is it any wonder we spend so much time defending.

Flying doctor zooms in and....he's helped back to his feet. Luca gets the applause and Vela is warming up and......we have the first sub. Bad news.

Re: Two,two the Lillywhite boys.....
Vela comes right in to it and....we get scores.....then.....some chat, more scores.....and the visitors try a run and shot that shouldn't have happened...and luckily, shoots wide. Wheats, Sammi, Lowe....wallop and....the goalie rolls it out. Bury have scored if any body cares, then the visitors sally and.....they win a corner. We sound to be playing Moss Bank wallop already. And.....in and....we clear to sally.

Re: Two,two the Lillywhite boys.....
On class on show yet then.....and Grounds wallops into orbit. "No composure" says mic man and they have a chat. All our yesterdays about pre games, then scores. The visitors do a bit of Harlem Globetrotters, then we actualy win a throw. Oh,,,,,was that a handball.....? no, it's a corner. O'Neil in, a Wilson header and....wide. Free kick them, then....Gallagher and the green hornets swarm in. We clear, they clear for a throw. Some more chat, then.....Fisher....some chat in the box....Vela feeds Mac, Noone goes and,,"it's a horrible ball" sayeth the mic man.

Re: Two,two the Lillywhite boys.....
Bit of shadow boxing against Noone, free kick them. A Bury comments....sigh....then....back to this scintillating (ahem) clash at the Unibol. Chat, more chat, a free kick them, Gallagher and....more green shirts than Sherwood Forest and ....a hullabaloo for a handball, but they get a corner. Back to the other end (briefly), some chat, Matthesws wallops clear and......O'Neil, Mac, Vela, Lowe and....we get a throw not a corner. They intercept, Grounds clears and.......well....
