Ken Anderson - Old Owner (Definitely. For Ever ..... )

What I'm pointing out is your cakeism.
You know how you were adamant a month ago that I was wrong and that it wasn't either a takeover or admin and that Ken could "muddle through indefinitely"?

Do you want to re-think that?
No thanks.
Ever heard of the false premise. It goes something like this: all mice are mammals, therefore all mammals must be mice; or, all prisoners drink tea, therefore all tea drinkers are criminals.
Well, you've just come up with your own version: if what I said might happen was right, then everything I say is right.
Wrong. There STILL, even now, is a third choice between the two you say are the only choices. You were wrong then, and are wrong now, even if one of the two choices turns out to be right - you'll still have been wrong!

Apparently, the Police are also chasing the club for unpaid bills for attendance duties, although they claim they won't leave games without supervision. A fine kettle of kippers.....

BN = clickbait wankers

https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/1 ... e-balance/

Contacted for comment = declined to speak (no doubt because they can’t during an ongoing takeover) = takeover falling apart!

I know they have to make money but that’s poor.

He says he's heard stuff. I'm not saying it hasn't broken down - in all likelihood it probably has given the complete financial mess we are in - but once again Iles is letting himself be used as a part of a negotiation and is implicitly taking a side. He got lucky last time that he could blame the mess on Anderson rather than the horse he backed specifically in Holdsworth.....

Iles is doing what he can, as a journalist. He's speaking to them, they're responding off the record but won't be quoted. He can therefore say It Looks Like... without being able to pin it down. Had the back page been left blank (metaphorically online, literally in the paper) people would complain quickly enough. But there are times when you can't publish quotes, no matter how much you want to, because the sources won't go on the record and there are legal and ethical rules to follow.

As for implicitly taking sides, there was nothing implicit in that match report. He's wary of being used but I don't think this morning's piece is puppetry: it's saying that it seems things have ground to a worrying halt, which may or may not be Basran playing poker but what else is there to say? Iles, like the rest of us, just wants this shit done with so we can get back on with the football, one way or other.

It is a fair point. I do think he gets sucked into the daily negotiation drama's - he's reporting what he hears but its frustratingly lacking in detail. Even detail to suggest why things have broken down - not even a hint.

Like everyone else I would love Iles to be wrong or to be jumping the gun, but it makes perfect sense. The chance of Basran/Brittan not finding anything that affects negotiations during due diligence, or KA not screwing them around trying to bluff with no hand, or the chance of them not seeing whatever they agreed to is now a bad deal after the weekend is close to zero.

Training ground locked. 1st team had a day off anyway but staff told not to bother coming in because there's no food.

As far as I can possibly imagine there's nowt we humble forum-dwellers can do except hope, drink, pray, whatever gets you through the day.

Nixon says there's also fuel shortages (Iles notes that Lostock runs on a diesel generator). It's like the three-day week. Training by candlelight. What a shambles.
