Re: Ken Anderson - New Owner (Definitely. For Now ..... )
Typical of somone not associated with the club getting in on the act. A couple of years back we (The Bolton Boppers) did a fun jiveathon at half time in a Sheffield night game at the Macron. Our "dance teacher" kept rhyming on "Do it for Harry Goslin" (He'd been doing his Bolton homework see!) I ( and a couple of others) reminded him that Harry Goslin died in 1943 and nobody would remember him now and he'd be better saying "Do it for Nat, or SuperKev etc". He ignored us in his usual know-all fashion despite The Nat Lofthouse Stand" in huge letters staring him in the face from twenty yards away.. Never said much before as we signed a confidentiality clause at the time, but he was a right pillock as time proved categorically.Harry Genshaw wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2019 5:01 pm
The writer seems to think administration and a points deduction is the likeliest outcome and the list of former greats - Okocha - so good they mentioned him twice - fair enough but Cowdrill?!

I mean, depending on whether you trust Ken or not, they paid for their best player to play for us for six months. I can see why you might be miffed. And that's without oats in my brew.
I'm still 75% it'll be reet, but 25% 'my team might not exist on Thursday' isn't a great vibe.
Are we the baddies?

That picture of the rolls building with the bird having a fag supping a lucozade, on the BN live blog has made my morning. Hope she’s a junior QC!

Extra time granted seems to be the prevailing opinion from Nixon, Iles and our own LLS.
Fingers crossed everyone.

I think it'll be reet (today) too, but the old saying is "never give a mug a chance"...It's not like Anderson doesn't have "form" in this type of Court and it's previously not ended well. The fact that he's dispatched Aldridge down there (according to the BN) would suggest to me they're not "just going to pay the bill" coz they could've done that and saved themselves the train fare.Prufrock wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2019 1:00 amI mean, depending on whether you trust Ken or not, they paid for their best player to play for us for six months. Technically I think you still need someone to go. But I think it pretty clear there is no way they are paying the bill.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2019 8:53 amI think it'll be reet (today) too, but the old saying is "never give a mug a chance"...It's not like Anderson doesn't have "form" in this type of Court and it's previously not ended well. The worry has to be according to the twitter verse that Ken has form with liquidation and worse still, failing to play ball with receivers and diverting money out of the business before receivers get there....

I think even the most severe (from our perspective) judgement today will give us a few days on life support, so not expecting the end today. I still don't see what the way out of this mess is beyond today however. Not convinced at all that anyone is going to buy us.

It doesn't need to be anyone from the business (was the point) - the fact that we appear to have dispatched Aldridge suggests that it's not to hand over a cheque which we could do without attending. The minute they pay the debt, there isn't anything left to discuss.

Not unless it is someone with money to burn and they mainly want Premier league or bigger clubs.bristol_Wanderer3 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2019 9:07 amI think even the most severe (from our perspective) judgement today will give us a few days on life support, so not expecting the end today. IF a winding up order was granted today we'd have till receivers are appointed. That can take up to a week but worryingly some people seem to say potentially nowadays it can be sooner than that. Once they are appointed the business ceases to trade.bristol_Wanderer3 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2019 9:07 amI think even the most severe (from our perspective) judgement today will give us a few days on life support, so not expecting the end today. Most seem to think we get an adjournment based on enough evidence of a takeover in progress. I suspect that they will have a lower burden of proof for us given we are a football club, with a ground protected by an ACV...than they would a small business. Hopefully we'll get a week or two...
Having said that a delay suits Ken to (like Theresa May) carry on running the clock down and we will inevitably be back here again a week or two later. Because I can't see Ken selling to anyone until he is sure he has maximised his lot. And the point at which he will be sure, if ever, is about a minute away from certain liquidation....

Football Ventures (Basran group) apparently found around £10m in hitherto undiscovered financial obligations in due diligence. It seems that likely included commitments we made on the Doidge transfer, so might include some loan payments we haven't made, but £10m sounds a huge amount to find in due diligence i.e. over and above stuff that can be confirmed in documents like the accounts, and what was discussed during initial negotiations. Informal loans made by ED in the past perhaps?

The rumours are just crazy. I don' t believe there was a previously undeclared £10M hole.bristol_Wanderer3 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2019 9:59 amFootball Ventures (Basran group) apparently found around £10m in hitherto undiscovered financial obligations in due diligence. I honestly think its more likely that either Basran's backers want to play hardball to bring costs down - perhaps they believe KA is running the business insolvently (as though we don't all know this) and feel they've backed him into a corner, OR that one of his backers got cold feet and he couldn't afford it (or was always struggling regardless). Remember the Sports Shield debacle DH had two different partners putting money in who both ended up pulling out and KA stepped in last minute.
