So does anyone have any confidence that Ken won't take this down to the wire and beyond? By that I mean we won't still be in a position where Ken and mystery rich dude aren't still in negotiations after the 28th March current season admin deadline? And likely all the way to 3rd April? And possibly up to whatever deadline comes out of the 3rd April hearing?

No confidence that won't happen. I guess though that IF this interested party truly has the means and the desire they will make it happen somehow. I think the fear is nobody knows who they are - which does create doubt. Ken's best hope is probably to sell but I guess his backup must be admin.bristol_Wanderer3 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2019 9:34 amSo does anyone have any confidence that Ken won't take this down to the wire and beyond? Does Ken care if the points deduction is next season? Answer - no. If he's putting it into admin it makes no odds to him.

I guess your position on that would depend on which version of the Interweb you want to believe. Allegedly to buy us out of Admin would be the £20-£30m level bill, and you'd have to ask why would anyone do that, when it's all but the same as the "buy it outright" option which avoids Admin and any points deductions? If that's the case, then they could be quite happily still talking around Ken's terms until just prior to the next hearing...Not sure Anderson would be too fussed about an Admin penalty possibility so whether that date is a key driving point for either party has to be somewhat moot?bristol_Wanderer3 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2019 9:34 amSo does anyone have any confidence that Ken won't take this down to the wire and beyond? Just a punt, but these things often seem to fill the time available...

The argument is that if Ken is worried the deal might not go through then admin is his last chance to save it. But as you say I don't see the points deadline this week worrying Ken. If he throws it into admin why would he care if points come off next season? Surely he waits till just before the court hearing to do that - unless there is a cut off to do it ahead of a hearing?Worthy4England wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2019 9:49 amI guess your position on that would depend on which version of the Interweb you want to believe. Surely the question is "how would he fund such a process" - given your response to LLS up top of this page that he's probably somewhere near the bottom of barrels he can scrape. This isn't a "find £800k to tie us over another month" thing...

Moreover I am not convinced Ken's major motivation is just getting out with a good deal. He has shown time and again that he just drives negotiations to the point of collapse, and beyond. I am not convinced he cares what that means for the club.
The coach driver, having already been all over the road, has basically floored the accelerator, he is grinning manically, not blinking, has gone past all the exit ramps, and past the "road unfinished ahead" sign...
There is the option of one of the other creditors (likely Michael James) putting the club into admin, which would take it out of Ken's hands to a large degree, and could be done before the deadline. I see the following issues though:
1.) James has to fund it, and it is immediately a substantial amount, with wages, whatever it costs to get the games on on the 6th and 9th (i.e. paying caterers, police bills etc), satisfying petitioning creditors.
2.) He would be in direct opposition to Ken and the mystery party, and presumably tilting things back towards Basran, unless the mystery party entered the bidding under admin.
3.) Going into admin opens up the possibility of others bidding for assets who don't necessarily have the long term future of BWFC as their main goal.
4.) Footballing penalties such as the 2 year embargo and supervision of the EFL.

Club together with creditors to raise enough for 3 months of admin in order to get his £5M plus back.....Worthy4England wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2019 10:16 amSurely the question is "how would he fund such a process" - given your response to LLS up top of this page that he's probably somewhere near the bottom of barrels he can scrape. Really? You could see Moonshift, James and Warburton wanting to work with Anderson to do that? Moonshift are pretty much covered on the asset front, as is Warburton probably with the land he holds as security. Less sure about James. So yes, you've conjured up a scenario, but I'm not seeing it...BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2019 10:26 amClub together with creditors to raise enough for 3 months of admin in order to get his £5M plus back.....Worthy4England wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2019 10:16 amSurely the question is "how would he fund such a process" - given your response to LLS up top of this page that he's probably somewhere near the bottom of barrels he can scrape. It may be a very low probability in the range of miniscule to tiny, but it is still a fxcking possibility.

Following on from my previous notes, I thought it would be pertinent to give you all on update on the current situation at the club.
Talks are still ongoing with prospective buyers and, as matters currently stand, despite recent media speculation we do not foresee any need to appoint an administrator before the high court hearing on April 3.
As has been reported, Thursday 28 March is the cut-off date by which clubs would get deducted 12 points this season if they were to go into administration.
We are all still confident that we can resolve the current financial issues and also retain our Championship status.
The Club has earlier communicated that season ticket holders who bought their tickets on direct debit, will have their delayed March payment deducted on Friday 29 March. Once again, I would like to apologise for any inconvenience that this may have caused some of you.
I ask that you continue to support the club and get behind the players for each and every game that remains in the campaign.
After this weekend’s international break, we return to action with a trip down to Queen’s Park Rangers. The break came at a good time for the players to refresh and recharge and I’m certain they will go to Loftus Road looking to get a positive result.

Seriously, though: I'd forgotten about the ST DDs not being taken. Much tea-leaf reading ahoy, but first off, does anybody want to hazard a guess how much that is? Am I cynical to note that it's just before we'll need to pay the wages? (How much are the wages?) Why might the DDs not have been taken by now considering they're almost a month in arrears?

"Prospective buyers"??
Haven't we provided the name to a judge of THE buyer who is going to settle all the debts? (yes I know, blank sheet of paper).
Ken wants to raise the stakes and play one big hand for the whole lot, whilst the liquidator waits outside.

Here's a fun game: what do we think is the minimum Ken would let us go to the wall over.
I.e. if he sells the club he gets £x, if he lets it go to the wall, he's likely to recover £x + £y.
What's the lowest we think £y would have to be before it's Goodnight Vienna?
