Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
Looking pretty good right now at 309-3 after Roy made one and a half centuries. Butler has just banged two sixes into the River Taff...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
It really is astonishing how easy we make it look getting to these huge totals. This is now the 7th time in a row we’ve passed 300, which is a world record.

Is it the highest World Cup score? Our biggest OdI score is 482 so quite a bit off that.TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2019 2:23 pm386-6 is our total and highest ever. Take some beatin that. Great work.

Comfortably and tidily finished off with a ton to spare. Bangladesh were always chasing the ace with that total. Roy man of the match. Well done.

England whack the Windies (212 all out) 213-2, Root a stylish ton (apparently). Nice one lads.

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
Our batting really is astonishingly good. After 30 overs it looked like we were going a touch slowly by our own standards, but that last 20 overs was unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. With Roy, Bairstow, Morgan, Stokes and Buttler we’ve got player after player who can just take the game away from the opposition.

50 overs. 397-5 against Afghanistan right now. Sounds good to me...

Friad not Bruce, but..England break another record. They claimed two of the biggest today. Eoin Morgan beasted 17 sixes, the most in a one-day international, and the team broke the ODI record with 25.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Tue Jun 18, 2019 3:05 pmDo we know what the record WC innings tally is, by the way?TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Tue Jun 18, 2019 2:25 pm50 overs. 397-5 against Afghanistan right now. Not sure, 329 is the record chase though (Ireland v us). I'd be surprised if that isn't broken in this tournament (though doubt it will be today).
Agree with Jimbo but think Root deserves huge credit as the glue that holds it all together. Almost never fails, accumulates at about a run a ball without taking risks, rotates the strike, what a player. The anchor the others can go big from.

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
Google says 417 by Australia (v Afghanistan). That could go as well. We were pretty sluggish for 25 overs!

Cheers, Fella.
150 runs from 6's, Tango? That'll be 'giving it some tap' then?!

8 wickets bagged and 150 runs to spare. Morgan M.O.T.M. Lovely stuff.

I've always thought of myself as an atheist but after watching David Warner edge one into his own bollocks I'm starting to believe there might be something to this karma business.

Well, Prufrock, whatever else you might think of the man, you can't deny he has balls.
Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
Well that puts the cat among the pigeons. What we think of the Root dismissal? As soon as they reviewed it could see he knew he'd nicked it.
Contrast to Kohli walking the other day (and he hadn't even touched it).
What do we think about walking?

"Along with the sunshine, got to be a little rain sometimes" .....Wouldn't be a World Cup if we were guaranteed winning all the games. Walking shouldn't be an issue, you know if you're out or not and we're always screeching for honesty and sportsmanship. (except against Oz where it's always war.
