Evatt's found Dougie's bingo machine I see - I really hope we win today otherwise I suspect that it will become quite toxic later with Evatt getting lots of stick.

Has to be a back 3 else why would you drop Jones for Brockbank. Looks errrm, ambitious.

But Bertie, after the last game you said:

Not to drill home the point but I never quite understand why the people who complain about managers changing the XI are so often the ones who complain about the current players. Would you have been happier with an unchanged XI, barring the two who can't play? Did Crawford and Elbouzedi deserve to stay in the XI?Bertie Wooster wrote: ↑Sun Jan 24, 2021 9:49 amfor me we have far to many in this current squad who look like they can't be arsed & who go hiding in games on a regular basis & to get out of this league you need a few fighters in your team who will stand up & be counted.
Evatt may well be out of his depth but I'd rather see him try new things than keep making the same decisions expecting different results.

My guess is a 4-3-3 with the midfield being Lee, Thomason and Isgrove.

Fingers crossed - my worry is that it feels like the midfield v port vale (Thomason/Sarce/Crawford). Tutte hasn’t been great recently but he’s the only ball winner we have I think.

I think there's a balance between having some sort of structure and basis that requires a couple of changes, and changing over half the playing XI. The latter (outside of playing a nonsense game v someone's U23's) feels more like "haven't got a scooby so I'll.just try this" - even though we're like Barca on the training pitch.

Apparently Evatt said in the Supporters' Trust that he felt he'd played Sarce to deep, so hopefully we won't see a midfield like that again. The one we've gone with today (assuming it is that) does seem a risk, though.
Interestingly, both Tutte and Comley are on the bench.

Delaney's suspended, Sarce injured, Elbo hasn't exactly torn the place up in his first two games, Crawford didn't seize his chance. I can understand questioning dropping Tutte and Jones but the other four, not so much.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 2:49 pmI think there's a balance between having some sort of structure and basis that requires a couple of changes, and changing over half the playing XI. Depends on circumstance. And prejudice, I suppose. When successful managers change teams, it's rotation. Evatt's not earned that description yet.

I'd "guess" it's Isgrove at 10 and Arthur wide, but otherwise that.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 2:17 pmI only see two midfielders (Tomo and Lee) so I'm going to predict a 4-2-3-1 with Delf-Arthur-Isgrove (L to R) behind Doyle. Brocky RB.
Then again, it could be a 3-4-1-2 with Brocky in central defence, Isgrove at RWB (it's a home game...) and Arthur in behind Delf/Doyle.

See the commentary team have just said we have the players to be "disposing" of teams like Leyton Orient. A view that appears pretty often on here.
But I'd heard of about 3 of our players at the start of the season, and no idea on the rest. And we've been pants. So how do we justify that?!

Interesting - we're told Isgrove's a winger. You might be right though!Prufrock wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 2:55 pmI'd "guess" it's Isgrove at 10 and Arthur wide, but otherwise that.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 2:17 pmI only see two midfielders (Tomo and Lee) so I'm going to predict a 4-2-3-1 with Delf-Arthur-Isgrove (L to R) behind Doyle. Aye. But then Derek's also said Orient have "two giants, six foot plus" at the back, like it's 1890 or something.

Let's see how it plays out. With the exception of the 2 noobs, he's had this group long enough to understand their strengths and weaknesses. His job is to find the best fit for them.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 2:54 pmDelaney's suspended, Sarce injured, Elbo hasn't exactly torn the place up in his first two games, Crawford didn't seize his chance. I'm thinking 4-3-1-2 with Brock at RB. Gnu behind Doyle and Delf. Midfield three to spend the entire game being bypassed in either direction.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 2:17 pmI'm going to predict a 4-2-3-1 with Delf-Arthur-Isgrove (L to R) behind Doyle. Brocky RB.

Looks like it's Delf at 10. Or 442.
