Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
Any test side (probably most Club sides) bowled out for under 100 is going to he bitterly disappointed. That takes nothing away from our batting and bowling.

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
So would people declare or make India’s bowlers run in again?
For me I’d be padding up and asking them to bowl again. The more miles we put in their legs the better.
You’ve got to think that we can probably add 100ish on to any score. So right now India would need 445 to even have a small chance. So add another 20 or so and it’s a huge score needed.
But mainly make their bowlers bowl for a third day in a row. That’s humiliating, tiring and they hate it.

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
Maybe keep them bowling. Once we decided not to have a 30 minute dart tonight, I think I'd have a 30-60 minute bat tomorrow, dependent on the weather. If it looks swing friendly in the morning, I might think the atmosphere was going to help us more than the additional 20....BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 7:39 pmSo would people declare or make India’s bowlers run in again?

There's 3 whole days left. The best way to win is bat once. Keep going as long as we can. I mean it would take some special for us not to win from here whatever happens tbf. We're capable, but it would be something special.
Delighted for Root too. He's always felt like he the Andy Murray in the "Big Four". Smith, Kohli and Williamson all time greats and he's a top top player keeping up. Not at the moment. Supreme talent and supreme form. Wouldn't swap him for anyone at the moment. No idea how you get him out. Lovely to watch, quick between the wickets, scores all around the ground and keeps it ticking over. Delightful.

Indeed. Pitch obviously one of those that gets easier not harder. But we’ve got to bat last on it. Should still win but if India are still batting tomorrow after tea it’s game on again.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Fri Aug 27, 2021 6:17 pmWell, that was a long day at the office....Next two could be quite interesting!

Fantastic moment on TMS this avvo. Aggers on the mic, "and there's a light aircraft approaching the stadium towing a message......... let's have a look.... 'Sack the ECB - the death of test cricket'....... the plane's a Cessna.......... It's not Gower again is it?"

May the bridges I burn light your way

Anyone else a bit twitchy? They need another 280 to open up a 150 lead. Would you back us on day 5?!

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
Yeah of course. But the pitch doesn’t look like one you can blast a side out for 150. I mean not if you play well. My bigger concern is if we don’t win. That’s probably it for the series. If you can’t win after bowling a side out for 78 you probably aren’t winning anything.

Yeah - but that's sorta worse - you lose a couple and then some in the change over....I doubt it's going to be consequential at this point, but generally you're going to have better swing in that first hour...BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Aug 28, 2021 12:09 pmDidn’t use many to be fair.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sat Aug 28, 2021 11:59 amMe too - I do wonder at the wisdom of using overs batting yesterday morning. Yeah indeed. A fine win by an innings plus. Can’t complain. India fought well yesterday but hard to do it against the second new ball when you are still 100 odd behind. Couple fall and you know it’s done.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sat Aug 28, 2021 12:46 pmGreat wrap up this morning. Coulda been a long day - grand win.
