Yeah but obviously there was a fall-out with Eoin too.....perhaps one that for now was patched up. But clearly something has gone on there.KeyserSoze wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 3:00 pmHe's staying, per DSB's link above ^The_Gun wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 2:58 pmYeah not promoting the vice-captain, and the other obvious leader in the squad, is fishy in the extreme.truewhite15 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 2:12 pmNaming Santos as the new skipper also lends weight to the Doyle departure rumours. Meanwhile, senior professional Eoin Doyle remains as vice-captain to continue lending his experience to Evatt’s side as they continued to grow in League One.

It was 2+2 = 5 stuff just over an hour ago!

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Thread.
Seems quite likely. Doyle is the vice-captain, and has clearly been the main on-field leader, yet they've elected to promote Santos to the captaincy role ahead of him.
Easy to read too much into these situations, of course.

Yep - or you wouldn't have such a weirdly phrased sentence about ED being vice captain and 'continuing to lend experience'. Something has gone on that they want to shut down.
Fascinated to see who starts up top tomorrow.

Some stuff from Iles, which doesn't add much but is more #content to satisfy your cravings.

Heh. Chances of Evatt keeping his counsel in all subsequent press conferences? Low...KeyserSoze wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 3:09 pmSome stuff from Iles, which doesn't add much but is more #content to satisfy your cravings.

That was in the second piece after an hour of Twitter suggesting Mrs Doyle was on the point of walking till her hat floats. I hope she's OK.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 3:08 pmYep - or you wouldn't have such a weirdly phrased sentence about ED being vice captain and 'continuing to lend experience'. Having your commanding centre-back as captain makes more sense to me than a striker who seems to be on the wane. Make Doyle captain and it's harder to drop him, for those who love to read world events in such tea-leaves. Look what happened last time!

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Thread.
I said the jumping to conclusions about Doyle being the second player was based off a tweet from his missus who was referring to sommat else. I'm personally pretty certain now from that statement and other things I've been told that something has gone on there. We'll only find out in January I guess.KeyserSoze wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 3:06 pmBWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 3:02 pmYeah but obviously there was a fall-out with Eoin too.....perhaps one that for now was patched up. Don't disagree that Doyle isn't a natural choice for captain. I'd have gone with MJ personally. But we'll see. Its more that they added a line in about Doyle full stop. But regardless we'll find out over time. I'm fairly sure by end of Jan Doyle will have moved on too.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 3:13 pmThat was in the second piece after an hour of Twitter suggesting Mrs Doyle was on the point of walking till her hat floats. So what have you heard then? Is Mrs Doyle's Tweet referring to summat else, or is Doyle involved? If he's narked and likely to be off in January in any case I'm not sure what value there is in him still being here now?

I'm a bit stunned. People fall out lots of times, which doesn't preclude them working together. This feels stupid - but of course no idea what was done/said...

Yeah can't quite gauge if this has escalated beyond all proportion with two hot heads on either side, or if a hypothetical line was crossed somewhere...Worthy4England wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 3:21 pmI'm a bit stunned. It’s mental isn’t it. Sarce came on tues seemed fine put himself about, no issues. I do wonder if this is Ian’s ego as much as Sarce’s… I think we’ll find out soon enough.

Aye. And perhaps we never will have. But it seems that at least one of them, possibly both, overreacted wildly in one way or another – and I would argue that a stronger, more experienced chairman might just have knocked their bleedin' heads together. But here we are.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 3:21 pmI'm a bit stunned. People fall out lots of times, which doesn't preclude them working together. In other transfer news - looks like Ryan Colvin has recently joined Prescot Cables on a youth loan. They play in the 'Northern Premier League: Division One West', one step below the 'Northern Premier League: Premier Division' where Luke Hutchinson, Matty Alexander, Jay Fitzmartin and Adam Senior are all currently out on loan.

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Thread.
Me being pretty sure doesn't make it a fact - by any means. So we'll see. I was told a second player was also likely to be moved on after the row - but clearly it hasn't happened. I'm pretty confident that it is the case though and Doyle seems the most likely based on talk on social media and the odd (IMO) statement even though I believe his wife's tweet was not about that.dave the minion wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 3:20 pmSo what have you heard then? Perhaps they've patched it up. It also seems that Sarce had a move to Stockport for end of season ready in case we didn't offer him anything so perhaps that made it easier to shift him out.
But my guess (which is worth nowt) is Doyle might go in January. Perhaps Evatt will come out and explain.

I'm really disappointed in BWFCI, with him knowing all the top bods at the club and always having inside information on everything BWFC related I was expecting him to be able to enlighten us on this quite quickly.

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Thread.
It depends what has happened and how long its been going on for. BUT IF it materialised genuinely out of the blue following Tuesday then short of physical violence I think it doesn't reflect well on anyone. Surely an argument is something that can be reflected on and possibly patched up later.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 3:21 pmI'm a bit stunned. My read is IE took the decision and wanted Sarce out rather than Sarce walking and knew Sarce could go as he had an offer at Stockport for the end of the season.
If its been a few weeks of issues behind the scenes then perhaps it makes more sense. I don't like it when flashpoints force decisions because often those decisions are made on emotion.
