Used to, but considering Peterborough have conceded 21 in his 11 league games this season, perhaps he'd fit right inLeverEnd wrote: ↑Mon Jan 03, 2022 1:00 pmNot our type of player. He is a no nonsense league 1 Centre half. I would have no complaints but can’t see it!

Beevers is an extreme version of a player - there are options between him and defenders who are more robust than what we’ve got.
I do think he’d improve our back line though.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Thread
Interesting snippet from Iles' article on the signing:
"The pacy Fulham full-back has agreed to sign with the Whites until the end of the season, with the view to a permanent deal in the summer."

I'm hearing good things about Fossey offensively, but physicality is apparently the area he needs to improve.
From a scout who watched and recommended him to Wigan:

^^ yeah couple of mentions of "lack of physicality" and "injury prone" on the twittersphere...but as with many player a couple of mentions of "class" too....we'll have the second option, thanks!

Here's Fossey's first interview https://youtu.be/59ATdXJtEZs
No "massive club", but he has detected an "aura of hunger" around the ground. There's also a suggestion by the interviewer (who, I assume, is a club employee) that his long term future lies at Fulham.

A massive failure on Evatt's part.

^^ Ouch....empty shirt sounds like the one that left us...don't wish him any ill will, though. Hope it works out for him.

I have no interest in what any of them have to say. Cheers.The_Gun wrote: ↑Mon Jan 03, 2022 6:00 pmRead the comments underneath from St Johnstone fans…

Like Ali but no way on gods earth he could play in an Evatt midfield. No way. At all. Ever. Shame but that’s how it is. Sounds like he’s struggling to recapture his past form.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Thread
I thought Fossey's interview was good. Obviously had Premier League media training, but still showed character.
Pace and attacking ability would be welcome. Lack of physicality a concern, but then you could say the same about a lot of very good fullbacks.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Thread
^^ I'm curious how Evatt could be blamed. Crawford just wasn't the same player after his long term injury. Even playing in another Hill side, he was unable to recapture his earlier form with us.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Thread
It's fair to say that if you put the Wheevers into our current setup with sides running past our fullbacks and through our midfield at will they might not seem the impassable brick wall we remember.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Mon Jan 03, 2022 1:41 pmUsed to, but considering Peterborough have conceded 21 in his 11 league games this season, perhaps he'd fit right inLeverEnd wrote: ↑Mon Jan 03, 2022 1:00 pmNot our type of player. Re: January 2022 Transfer Thread
Just on the side, having read Insane's comments about Santos in this thread, I thought that he must have had a dreadful game against Rotherham which angered the Insane one terribly. Having watched the replay, I actually thought he was the best Bolton player in the game! He is certainly overall, our best Central Defender at the club currently when compared with Aimson, Baptiste and Johnston. I believe he needs a better partner.
Defending is a team issue for me and not just the back 4 and GK. I would be very disappointed if we did not get a Central Midfielder who can do the dirty work with MJ in this transfer window. This is where I believe Pru has a very good point in this discussion. At the moment, we are very soft in central midfield and need a proper #6 urgently.
