Re: Tonight's Football
He’s done nowt this season. He’s nowhere near worth what they paid for him. He’s a mid level premiership player at absolute best. Yet they paid Ronaldo, Messi style cash for him. He’s nothing like as good as people made out last summer. Nothing like. And Southgate got stick for not playing him.
He’s just a decent premiership midfield player. The money city paid was always utter madness. And never ever ever a player you’d build the England team round like was claimed.
Re: Tonight's Football
Well you've been conclusively proved right from 10 minutes today. And right to be weirdly pleased as well.

Re: Tonight's Football
I mean they paid £60m for Mahrez. And he had a bang average first season. And played 10 mins today. And he's terrible.

Re: Tonight's Football
They overpaid for Mahrez. Absolutely.
His bang average first season consisted of him scoring 19 times. He’s scored 22 goals this season.
They paid too much for him. But he’s worth more than Grealish as a player and the goals alone demonstrate that.
Grealish is massively and monstrously overrated. Always was. He’s not one of the top midfield players. And frankly it was laughable the sort of focus placed onto him. But this is now obvious.
Re: Tonight's Football
Not it didn't, he got 12, and only 7 league goals. He was in and out of team, got dropped several times and struggled with what Guardiola wants.
But he's a phenomenal player. And as you say, has 22 goals this season. It takes time.
It's absolutely possible Grealish will end up as a "bad signing" but you absolutely can't call that now, and trying to back it up on the basis of 10 minutes yesterday is ridiculous. You're allowed doubt you know.

Re: Tonight's Football
At the time of Grealish's transfer I too considered the reported fee (£100,000,000 + £300,000pw over six years) to be massively over the top for a player who's good, but perhaps not that good, and comparisons with Gascoigne simply preposterous.
However, I thought - let's see what he's like with better players around him, see if he really can kick-on to that next level. Yet from what I've seen to date (and, of course, I don't follow City closely) he's been rather found-out. If anything, playing for City has highlighted his limitations.

Watched the Lionesses spank Northern Ireland 5-0. I reckon Magic Millie Bright and these girls would give most sides below Championship a run for their money. Entertaining.

Re: Tonight's Football
To be fair, score regardless, the Irish girls defended pretty well, it's just that the Lionesses were so good all over the pitch.boltonboris wrote: ↑Wed Apr 13, 2022 9:12 pmNorn Iron Managers presser was a bit ermm... Re: Tonight's Football
They should have gone down in 97/98. Stayed up at our expense on GD, after we were denied a perfectly good goal against them in the first game at the Reebok. Not that we hold grudges! That and the fact they’re scouse!
