Re: Pre-season 2022/23
Interesting to see the team on paper and the subs. Some might say that we are a couple light but this team sheet does show a certain strength in depth, something we could only dream of 24 short months ago .
People haven't got a good word for you, but i have T**T.

We've done well with Lees over the years - Franny, David, Chung-Yong and now sexy Kieran.

Re: Pre-season 2022/23
Is it unfair that us winning today would make me think not so much “HMS PTL” as “Watford Titanic”?

Sounds good. Sadlier at wingback (has he played anywhere else this preseason?), Dapo and Charles up top, Dixon had a good game as well by the sounds of it.

Re: Pre-season 2022/23
As I speculated earlier, Evatt is a quick learner and sounds like the Bodvarrson lines about being tougher and winning games ‘with the ugly stuff’ is a message from Evatt too.

He’s a clever guy and he will know that you can’t go up just playing football all the time.
I have confidence he just needs to find a couple more specimens that will help us against the more robust teams in this league.

What he doesn't say is "I'm going to buy some tanks"....He refers to, as did Bod earlier, the people we have winning their personal duels...(paraphrasing)

Aye but he’s no longer banging on about playing the right way, moral victories, not compromising on our principles…Worthy4England wrote: ↑Tue Jul 12, 2022 9:07 pmWhat he doesn't say is "I'm going to buy some tanks"....He refers to, as did Bod earlier, the people we have winning their personal duels...(paraphrasing)![]()
He’s obviously learned that you need to be able to win when not on top. As Wigan and Rotherham showed last season. I don’t even want tanks. Just a good option to improve on or support the MJ role. And another centre half.
I was being facetious about ‘specimens’.

Re: Pre-season 2022/23
Pre season friendlies mean nowt but winning them puts me in a much better mood than losing em. I see Watford lost to Cambridge as well, 1-3 last week

I skim-read that and an image of Bruce doing a Sharon Stone in a fur coat flashed into my mind's eye.TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Thu Jul 14, 2022 8:31 amMy money would be on you. Put this in here as technically it’s a preview of todays game - but it’s a decent interview with James Trafford.

Interesting insight. Four-year contract extension at City - and players get fined for waving to fans...officer_dibble wrote: ↑Sat Jul 16, 2022 9:31 amPut this in here as technically it’s a preview of todays game - but it’s a decent interview with James Trafford.
