Had to jinx it didnt I. FFS.
2-0 against the bin dippers. Grim.
Toal not challenging enough for a header when he's in midfield and some switching off between Beck and Aimson to make the gap. Just as we were picking up the tempo aswell.

Not very good. Not very good at all. That was awful defending.

Yeah on replay Johnston is hugely ball-watching while their guy stands unmarked in our area. Poor, very poor.

The level of Morley and Sheehan is so far below Thomason and MJ it’s not funny.
Can’t see either of them making much of a first team impression at this rate.
The number of changes though and the fact some of these aren’t sharp isn’t helping at all. In what was always a potential banana skin. Front two could do much more too.

Bit more fight and tenacity and have one on target. Followed by a couple of decent areas out wide.
Then some dreadful, dreadful defending from that candyfloss of a centre midfield and it’s 2.
Beck not sharp/match-fit.

Not sure if it's the first or the second I've just seen, but what in the name of the blue fecking blazes is Dixon doing that far to his right? Once again, terrible goalkeeping from a sadly awful goalkeeper.

Agree with the number of changes thing, but if some of these have been knocking on the gaffers door demanding playing time, they probably haven't advanced their cause in that first half.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue Sep 20, 2022 7:43 pmThe level of Morley and Sheehan is so far below Thomason and MJ it’s not funny.

fecking inevitable from the moment Marc Iles announced we could go 100% in September for the first time since dinosaurs! The bald bell end!

Beck has been dreadful. I'm hoping that's down to his lack of match fitness, but on this showing he's not another Bradley.

I knew Evatt shouldn't have had his hair cut before a cup match. Somebody lend him a wig.

He seems keen on opening the goal up to me. Which is the opposite of what he should be doing. Never a good sign.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Tue Sep 20, 2022 7:46 pmNot sure if it's the first or the second I've just seen, but what in the name of the blue fecking blazes is Dixon doing that far to his right? Re: Tranmere (A) - Twisting my Mellon Man, Battle of Keith Hill survivors group
The lack of pressure in midfield is really exposing the defenders who haven't been as sharp as we've been accustomed to.
Usually we're effective on the wings but John and Beck have offered very little so far. Don't think either have got past their man or offered any link up play on the wings.
I'd be looking to get John at LWB, Sadlier RWB, Khumbeni in midfield at this rate to help offer a bit extra in midfield.
Sheehan was somewhat of a luxury at the start of last season in midfield, not one to win the ball back that often and good on the attack but little support. We're seeing that in abundance at the moment with Morley, Sheehan and Sadlier. We need someone to set a standard of aggression in the middle of the park as Tranmere are bypassing us to easily in the midfield.
We're not coming back in this match without a serious improvement on our work rate.

We have a keeper on the bench...but Dixon was far from the only problem (even though he's a fairly significant problem

Re: Tranmere (A) - Twisting my Mellon Man, Battle of Keith Hill survivors group
There are plenty of people at fault for the first goal but Dixon really isn't helping himself. The amount of space he's left on the right hand side practically just screams have a go. I don't think he would've been able to save it had he been in the right space but I do suspect that standing in a better position may at least made it less of a consideration.
Nowhere near enough pressure from Sadlier in the build up to that first goal, Beck gets the wrong side of his man and the covering defenders seem a little taken aback by the ease at which he's running through our midfield. None of the players seem switched on for that first goal.

If it's a soft goal conceded to his left (right as we look) it's the first.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Tue Sep 20, 2022 7:46 pmNot sure if it's the first or the second I've just seen, but what in the name of the blue fecking blazes is Dixon doing that far to his right? Promoting Hutchinson past Dixon must be on the agenda? I'd be surprised if he was much worse.
