If Haaland is left out of the city line up tonight , as he was last Saturday, that could be very telling.
People haven't got a good word for you, but i have T**T.

I'm sure he'd make an excellent wing back.

Sounds like his exit is imminent. If we can get some decent dosh for him, it’s definitely the right thing to do.

Anything over £500k with some add-ons would be good business in my opinion.
Personally I hope we're pushing for more than £500k. I don't have much knowledge on what's realistic in today's market, but I'd want closer to a million based on his ability.

He's not done a lot since the first half of last season. If he was playing as he did then you'd say £1M is light.

As he's been for the last year I'd be delighted with £750K.

I suspect the current hierarchy are the types to drive a hard bargain. Unless there has been a falling out behind the scenes, I'd be surprised if we let him go for £500k.

The fact he wasn't included last night and the weird Evatt comments would suggest to me either some sort of fall out, or Dapo's pushing to be away.

If the twitter rumours are true and the interest comes from the bottom of the German second division I think we'd need to adjust our fee expectations accordingly. IF true.

The right price for Dapo, is whatever it costs us to get that "very decent No 10, in" :-) Anything above that is upside...

If it is St.Pauli then that might be no bad thing. They are slightly panicky at the minute over their league position and they have money, having just recovered from the Covid-19 hit and posted record turnover. They are known to be prepared to invest in this window to get themselves safe.

That's not saying it is them or what fee we'd get, but they're no poorer than Rangers in terms of available cash this window.

Evatt on a potential new signing:
There is certainly one more that we have identified as being really exciting and we are having to be a little more patient. As that evolves and becomes nearer to completion, you will understand why we are being pretty cautious. The next one that we want in the building, we have had some positive news on today so that will be developing all the time
Iles describes it as "the biggest bit of business that the club do this month", so that'll be interesting and no doubt someone none of us have heard even a whisper about.
Is it Marcus Maddison again? :D

A few have been asking that, but I don't think Allan Saint-Minimum will be making a return.

It'll be genuinely interesting to see what Evatt classes as "exciting" at this stage of our development.

The lads that we've looked at - Harris, Lavery, Patching etc might be ones we'd say "fair enough, they could be good here", but I'm not sure they'd flog a load of shirts.

Ayoub Assal would be a decent signing for most sides at this level, but would he set imaginations afire?

"Exciting" for a promotion-chasing League One side is, presumably, someone you'd think "We'd have done well to get him in the Championship"...or am I overegging it?

I just went on the St Pauli forum and translated it into English ( :) ). Apparently their local paper has mentioned Dapo by name, so their fans seem to think it's a genuine link.

Yeah, Hamburger Abendblatt is usually quite reliable and well sourced with the local clubs.

Terms agreed with the player, but no medical yet and they're still talking money with Bolton.

Sounds like it's going to happen then. Hopefully we can reinvest the cash during this window and emerge stronger on the other side.

It's a bit weird in L1, as unlike Prem, most don't generally get to see players much other than home/away game and maybe the odd snippet on FL show, so unless you have your own spreadsheets :-) or are "in the business" it's a bit difficult for most folks to tell (certainly me).

I typically have zero idea what "Joe Smith" is good at, until they pull on the shirt and start kicking a ball (just because they had a great/shit game against us once doesn't tell you much). To be honest, I'd never heard of Marcus Maddison, until he rocked up. It was only some posts from I think, Brommers, that suggested he might be decent...I can recall indignation on the Morecambe forum when we first played them, that most of us posted things like "Dunno what to expect from this lot" - they were surprised that we couldn't name their first XI...

In that context, whoever it is, I'm unlikely to be "excited" about them until I see them on the pitch...

There's nothing wrong with just showing up on a match day wanting some entertainment and not bothering with the minutia of the sport unless it directly hits home with your own club.

I'd love to see us sign someone entertaining. Dapo was that, until the change of system (or loss of form, depending which you think came first).

For what it's worth, I think we've seen 6 months of amazing Dapo and the rest he's been a decent League One player in most games. He's clearly the most talented one, but if we can get good money for him we'll have done well and we can hopefully find another.

We paid around 300k for Charles with 6 months left on his deal whilst he was slumming it in the Accy reserves. On that basis you'd want £1m for Dapo or you'd feel very hard done by.

I think we'll get about £1m - £1.5m for him. Can't see us dropping our pants for him, as his goals at the back end of the season could be worth more than the fee we'd get.

We absolutely have to replace him though. Without him, we lack so much creativity. He's the only one in the attacking 3rd who can dribble, the only one who can carve defences open with a pass and he's the best finisher in the team

I think us not being able to fit him into a system, is a failing on part and not his and I wish him well if he does leave. Delighted if he doesn't

Agree with this, whilst I think many would say Dapo's lacked a bit of form / played out of position, he does still have the ability to spring into life and do something pretty good and there is a "lose" possibility here. So whatever we do, will need to look like an "upgrade" on the pitch

Not sure it's even the minutia - I reckon whoever it is, there's probably going to be a fairly low number of people actually seen them play a full game more than a handful of times (unless it's some completely "out there" coup)...
