Another fine mess Stanley...Away at Accrington in the Cup. Wed 22-Feb. 8-O'clock.

Where fellow sufferers gather to share the pain, longing and unrequited transfer requests that make being a Wanderer what it is...

For some reason our price with the bookies has crashed in the past few days. If anything I would’ve thought it would have lengthened after our result on Saturday and the additional injuries we picked up.

All things considered I’d make us slight favourites, but given the players available tonight it’s a close run thing.

We’ve got some recent history for letting ourselves down when we’re on the telly, and I’m definitely more anxious than confident right now.

Is it likely to be, folks are having a few more quid on us than Accrington in a fairly limited market?

Time to stand up and be counted is fast approaching :-)

I'm predicting Kachunga will have a big night.

Either scoring the winning goal or being influencial in a pivotal moment or something.

Brave, Nicholado, brave... :D

Edit: 15/8 for Kacha to score anytime... 12/1 for 2 or more...drinks on you mate.

Edit no 2: Actually you can only get 2/1 on Shortire to score anytime with Coral's and he's cup-tied! :D

I’m anxious more than confident. But I’m a fan. The players should be confident. Focus on the process not the outcome. Do their jobs and play well and the rest looks after itself.

Kachunga has a path to redemption and I agree I feel it’s a big night for him one way and another. Time to step up and bring it.

Almost certainly this. Same reason England are always shorter World Cup odds than they deserve. You never see a bookie on a bike.

Apparently Accrington are the only club in the league never to have appeared at Wembley. That’s not helping….

Anyone else think that Evatt announcing in the press that Demps and Gethin needed scans is just a bit of psycological warfare? Keeps Accy guessing?

You're right. With 50-50 the safest bet, it's unlikely bookies odds are more than meagre and they're governed by the tic-tac intelligence based on the punters fancies. It takes a high stake to win any substantial amount and with the uncertainty of losing. The bookies watch the odds and lay off any killer bets. The odds do change according to progress, but the bookies stand to gain far more than they lose. Fixed odds is the safest way to go if you have to bet.

My mother (God rest here soul) was a "sixpence each way"punter on the Grand National with an uncanny knack of picking winners; Red Rum, Red Alligator and Nicholas Silver stay in memory... :D. Me, I soon found out there was no future in betting and gave it the "heave-ho" after getting a few harsh lessons in the Casinos.

Ooh the game's even got a BBC preview: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64709395

Worth remembering - if, like me, you don't have Sky Sports - that you can get a 24-hour Now TV pass for £11.98 at https://www.nowtv.com/sports-purchase - that's only £2 more than iFollow and it's big telly, multiple replays and presumably a lot less Harlan.

Obviously, the BN's "How to follow the match" doesn't mention this option. You had one job...

Wasn't lucky enough to get a ticket so watching this in the platinum suite tonight. I'm always pessimistic when it comes to our chances but especially so this evening given all the doom indicators.

Cmon lads. Surprise me!

Well it's a lot drier and warmer in the platinum suite than it will be for those poor buggers on that open terrace.

Dempsey and Jerome out. Jones on bench.

This is a really weak team. I fear for this. I really do. No strikers on bench. Down to Kachunga and Charles to do the business. No chance of changing it.
