Trafford went off at half time in the U23s England game this evening. Was anyone watching? Would be the absolute worst news if he was injured.

Friendly isn't it? I'm assuming it's planned but yeah, is it too late to get a refund ?

With Jon Bodvarson definitely ruled out, looks like Dion will be first name on the list after Trafford. Evatt says he has a plan for the team..what's yours?

I don’t see many surprises - can’t see Johnston starting, think it will be:
Trafford
Jones
Santos
Toal
Bradley
John
Morley
Dempsey
Lee
Kachunga
Charles
Jerome will get some time off the bench.

Best laid plans of mice and manflu. Least I got trains refunded. On the plus side, I am in the "not seen us win at Wembley" club, so maybe our chances just improved...

Sorry to hear that, pal. Hopefully you can enjoy it from the sofa anyway.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sat Apr 01, 2023 5:59 pmBest laid plans of mice and manflu. Least I got trains refunded. On the plus side, I am in the "not seen us win at Wembley" club, so maybe our chances just improved...
I’m strangely feeling no nerves whatsoever. Would be great to win, but don’t think I’ll be too upset if we don’t. I suspect my present serenity might be subject to change after a few pre-match jars, but looking forward to it all nonetheless.
There are perhaps four starting places up for grabs by my reckoning:
RCB (Toal or Jones)
LCB (Mbete or Johnston)
LWB (John or Williams)
ST (Kachunga or Jerome)
I’d be going for Toal, Johnston, Williams and Jerome, but don’t think Evatt is likely to agree with me.
Re: Abide with us...v Plymouth Argyle Sunday 2nd April 3-O'clock WEMBLEY
I think it's two from Johnstone Jones and Toal for centre back. V surprised if it's Mbete.
Toal plus Johnstone for me. We get five subs and have feck all to come off the bench up top so can use one if he's flagging.
If we had options I'd pick Jerome over Kacha but I just can't see Lee and him having 90 maybe 120 mins in, so I think it'll be Kacha with Jerome off the bench.

I reckon much depends on what we're doing with fifteen to go. Don't want IE thinking Supersub and we need to be two up by then for safety. This ain't no o-o game.

Re: Abide with us...v Plymouth Argyle Sunday 2nd April 3-O'clock WEMBLEY
I can see the benefit in playing Johnston - left-footed, gives us good balance and quicker transition in possession, and was also part of a tight defence. However, it’s a huge call, and if IE goes with it then he has another huge call at RCB: the impressive (and tall) Toal or his adaptable lieutenant Jones?
Plenty of places are locked down: Traf, Santos, Bradley, Charles. Before Hillsborough I’d have added Morley and Dempsey too, and I still think they’re 80% sure, but Sheehan is perhaps an option. I would still expect Morley-Dempsey-Lee as the midfield three, which as Pru says means it might be Kacha over Jerome up top, although I have a feeling I’d pick Jerome.
Another big question is LWB. Do we trust Declan John? I think it’s his position to lose but Evatt has summarily dropped him before.

John is a gamble. I hate the little bastard because he should be much better than he is. So much talent. And big game, so maybe you get good John. But Bali Mumba is superb, and if it's half arsed John we'll get ripped apart down there.

Aye. - a lot riding on John tomorrow. I’ll be disappointed if on the big wembley pitch we fudge it and start Jones at LWB - we’ll win (or lose) tomorrow based on what we create and we can’t feck about. Randy might play a part off the bench as well - don’t rule him out!
Re: Abide with us...v Plymouth Argyle Sunday 2nd April 3-O'clock WEMBLEY
Yeah feck, I hadn’t considered Jones on the left. Please don’t do that, Ian.
