I’m sure rumours and transfer movement will start to ramp up this coming week once we’ve got the L1 and L2 playoffs wrapped up.

Also the Premier League youngsters will find out what's going on for them next week.brommers95 wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 2:51 pmI’m sure rumours and transfer movement will start to ramp up this coming week once we’ve got the L1 and L2 playoffs wrapped up.
Presumably we will be in that market.
A number of them are due for the first round of meetings on Tuesday.

City's U21 won their division by a country mile, so I'm hoping we have first refusal...!
Shea Charles would be ideal, but I think he'll end up in the Championship.

You’d hope being two years deep into the recruitment/talent ID process setup by Markham that we’d now have a good read on those PL2 youngsters that are being released but still good enough to contribute in L1.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 2:59 pmAlso the Premier League youngsters will find out what's going on for them next week.brommers95 wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 2:51 pmI’m sure rumours and transfer movement will start to ramp up this coming week once we’ve got the L1 and L2 playoffs wrapped up.

Up the Northern Ireland FC.
Speaking of, he's no Moxon but Alfie McCalmont isn't going to make it at Leeds but looks tidy.

Pompey have made it very clear they want Di'Shon Bernard back next season. You'd expect we'd not let that go without a fight.brommers95 wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 3:28 pmYou’d hope being two years deep into the recruitment/talent ID process setup by Markham that we’d now have a good read on those PL2 youngsters that are being released but still good enough to contribute in L1.
We'll see what goes on.

Not been watching the football. How's the boy Moxom done?

Re: Snog, Marry, Avoid: Summer 2023 Transfer Window
Well the odds of him playing a game at the UniBol next year have gone up. The odds of him playing 23 down.

He was head and shoulders above every other player on the park, despite carrying an injury they were worried might rule him out.
He will be target #1 for a lot of clubs.

How big a transfer fee do you think Moxon would command now, Ghost?

Seems pretty unlikely we’ll be spending £1m+ on a midfielder this summer.

It would seem unlikely that a release clause would be put into the two-year deal of a lad signing at the age of 24 from the Scottish fourth tier, where he'd spent five seasons. But, I suppose, if one were put in it wouldn't be astronomical.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 6:30 pmIt'd be nice were there a release clause. Carlisle have had them before.
None of which is to say he's a bad player, by the way. Interesting where they come from, isn't it? Speaking of which, he's from Carlisle.
I suspect we'd better move our hopes onto another peg.

He's a similar age to Vardy when he came out of non-league, isn't he?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 7:42 pmIt would seem unlikely that a release clause would be put into the two-year deal of a lad signing at the age of 24 from the Scottish fourth tier, where he'd spent five seasons. I have been saying for about 8 months that he'd be my #1 pick, so I can't really change my tune now. There are reasons to think we might get a look in.
The number of Championship clubs that will take a risk on a 25-year-old with one season of proper footy in him is probably limited. In League One the money of previous seasons simply isn't there next season. With this small cash influx we will probably be one of the heavy hitters. If Sheff Wednesday stay down they will probably not have much to spend and if they do they might not put big money into the part of the pitch that belongs to Barry Bannan. Reading are screwed. The other clubs who might go big on a mid this summer at our level wouldn't be as attractive as us. Maybe Blackpool could do something? Not sure I'd go there over coming here.
So whether he's realistic or not probably comes down to that Championship interest. I'd have worried about Luton (very much their type), but they won't get him for the Prem. So it's promoted clubs and the bottom lot. There's a chance we might have a shot against them if we are signing him to start vs them for the bench.
If he's unattainable there are other lads who can do the job we need, but if he can be got we should be getting. Of the "possibly gettable" players of that type he's the most complete.

I think Moxon looks a decent player but I’d be worried about spending serious money on a lad who hasn’t played about league two.
It would be a big risk at a point where I personally think we need more sure things. People we know are good for the job.

Re Exeter wanting Sheehan on a free with a promise of more games..? Is it likely? I realise it's but opinions right now...but?
